I find it interesting that Dominic Wade is a young undefeated IBF mandatory who's nickname is Lights Out.
Michael Nunn was seen as unbeatable, destroying Tate and Roldan, before KO'ing the lineal champ Kalambay. He then went on to certify his dominance over the division beating other top MW's.
Toney was seen as a punk 22 year old, and a 17-1 underdog. He was supposed to be a showcase fight for Nunn.
Both Wade & Toney turned pro around 19 years old, but where Wade had a long amateur career, Toney had little. Both Wade & Toney only fought 2 tough opponents prior to their title shot - Brinson & Soliman (SD) for Wade, Sosa (SD) & Gonzalez for Toney.
The title chase is a cover for fighting guys like Wade while he waits on a big payday from other fighters. They've said it over and over again. GGG will give up his title chase for a big fight. They're still interested in fighting Cotto. GGG is a welfare fighters. Wanting a big payday and exposure from other fighters instead of building his own name by fighting the best out there. A guy at his age with his resume shouldn't be fighting Dominic Wade if he's truly the best MW out there. It's sickening how his fans give him a pass because it's a mando. The IBF rankings are horrible. That belt isn't worth keeping.
now i did not hear the part in the bold, but somethings i dont need direct quotes on bc im smart enough to understand BS when i hear it. meaning i agree with wat you are saying even if they have not set it in stone..to GGG's credit he's build his own little fan base, but it has worked against him imo, but now u're 100% right he doesnt look out in the crowd and realize he has to take a risk to get ppl to come...he's looked across the ring to see absolute food but when he looked over the ropes he saw a full house...HE'S SPOILED NOW..
but he does have a good play with this all the belts crap..lol ppl know it is bs, but hey they like belts and dont say crap like "there are 2 many belts" when their fave fighter is the once chasing soft champs.
if this man would have scalped lara and ward by now...he'll i'd buy his ppv's without a belt on being on the line..
