It's difficult for him, being based in Australasia. It's lose:lose, really. He is only known among hardcore fans, so that makes any match-up outside of New Zealand unprofitable.

The only 'big' fight, which is beneficial to Parker and an opponent, is a match up with Lucas Browne.

I like Parker, though. Like you, I want to see him in with a contender/gatekeeper.

I follow Parker on Twitter and his coach responded to one of my tweets. He said they are having a very difficult time in securing 'high profile' opponents. No one wants to fight Parker, he's an astronomical risk with little upside because, as you noted, he's unknown in the mainstream.

since they have a base camp in las vegas, why doesn't he go out to fight there?
        strange.

I didn't know he trained in Vegas. Agree, he should fight in the states, make a name for himself.

By better you mean Whyte went head hunting and managed to get a KO early because fortunately he was fighting nobodies as well? Parker outboxed those guys - Minto was hitting Whyte more than Whyte was hitting Minto, just Minto couldn't hurt Whyte and Whyte's power (and chin) can't be denied.

Whyte's swing for the sky technique is good for KOing lower level journeymen but as soon as he goes higher level (ie, AJ and Parker) then it falls apart. Parker fought Minto ages ago and fought higher levels since and stepped up his power and technique heaps since - Bowie Tupou and Whyte would be an amusing fight, Whyte is above him but not as much as it seems people here seem to think. Guessing there are a lot of Poms in here.

Parker had fought mostly higher opposition than Joshua until Joshua went against Whyte (and is probably lucky Whyte hurt himself). Parker has not lost a round or looked in any danger yet people somehow think he's not a thing. Keep it up, it may help when I need to place a bet sometime.

Mostly higher opposition? Don't make me laugh.

3 world title challengers, 5 guys who hadn't been koed before.

Parker had been fighting low level opponents and taking longer to dispatch them than Whyte.

USA/ENG have a much higher level of competition than AUS/NZ, toiletman.

Boxing does not rate here in NZ, nor in Aussie, it is NOT a top sport.

That is why neither of those 2 countries produce many genuine prospects.

And those we do produce, have to move to the US early to increase their level of competition/experience.

In rugby, we have 40k senior players, whereas you have 400k senior players..... but you guys couldn't beat us if your lives depended on it

                  Why is that ?

Oh right, because we have a much higher level of domestic competition.

But I bet you guys produce some great toilet-cleaners.

But the ******est part of your post, is that the same applies to Joshua if Parker clocks him.

He will have to fight on the road, nobody wants to come here.

That is just a harsh reality if you happen to be a boxer from this part of the world.

Fenech is really the only exception that I can think of.

I don't think it's a problem, he will just have to deal with it.

Duco promotions offered Anthony Joshua $500,000 new zealand, to come to new zealand and fight joseph parker.

Joshua had just made $7,000,000 new zealand against whyte so quite rightly team parker got laughed at

The fact is his promotional team simply can't AFFORD to get a good fighter to go over there, they need to make Parker and opponent, and don't give me the "no one want's to fight him", Anthony Joshua can get decent opponents, so could David Price get tony thompson, this is pro boxing, they fight for a living they just have to pay a fair amount.

Easy to offer pittence and hide in NZ and say everyones "ducking"
