I think Ward needs at least 3 tune-ups before fighting Kovalev.

Ward's game is reliant upon skill and timing. That's the first thing to go when you're out the ring as long as he's been out.

the same guy that knocked kovalev down? probably not the best example. ward 's chin is not that good imo. against miranda he was wobbled and had to clinch which he's great at. even against paul smith he was having a grand old time until smith wobbled him and he went back to clinch mode immediately. he's good at not getting hit too flush since he jumps into his opponents but that can only work for so long.when he fights someone who can counter(which he's never done) he will get caught and put out. kovalev isn't great at countering but he can do it so we will see. even without that aspect kovalev still should win since he's the better boxer at range.

I wish people would stop bringing up Darnell Boone as an example of any fighter's chin being weak. He can knock just about anyone down with his power.

Ward will easily defeat Barrera and also defeat Kovalev. Krusher couldn't krush a 50 year old B-Hop and ward has a similar style yet he is younger and naturally bigger. ..

*sigh* gonna pass on the pretty terrible comments made thus far but Ward and Kovalev is the biggest fight in boxing right now behind GGG and Canelo. Let's hope we see both this year.

Are you familiar with Boone's history? Boone has given Stevenson, Kovalev trouble too. I was actually impressed by the resolve Ward displayed that early in his career. Besides, one bad night years ago doesn't make Ward's chin suspect.
