Comments Thread For: Kovalev's Manager: Maybe We'll Fight Barrera and Not Ward

Egis Klimas, manager for WBO/WBA/IBF light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev, is not ruling out the possibility of an upset on March 26th, when unbeaten contender Sullivan Barrera (17-0, 12KOs) of Cuba will face former super middleweight king Andre Ward (28-0, 15KOs) at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California.

Ward will easily defeat Barrera and also defeat Kovalev. Krusher couldn't krush a 50 year old B-Hop and ward has a similar style yet he is younger and naturally bigger. ..

I agree. As long as Ward stays healthy, he should beat Barrera and also beat Kovalev, who at the very least has a puncher's chance on Ward.

I disagree, the only guy Wards beating at 175 is Chickenson, if he's smart, he stays away from Kovalev.

Couldn't crush? lol.. Ref should have stopped the fight, idiot lol..did you even watch it? 12 round beating and the last round was brutual and Hopkins ran and held all night...

Ward beat two over-the-hill 30+ year old Europeans on home soil and you think he's great..his chin is weak.. Kova's fists will end him..that clinching won't work against a bigger man..anyway fk predictions.. I care about fights..your prediction is about as worthless as CoWard's excuses for needing tune ups at 32

Ive only seen this Barrera fight all I know bout him is Gamboa sent him some money back in 2009 so he would get out of Cuba where he was just wasting away not doing much. By Cuban amateur standards he was meh for em, but he should be game.

Idk about winning thats a heck of a loOOoOooooOng shot, but he is big strong can take a punch, and fights going forwards or backwards well. So it shouldnt be a blowout at least.

What makes you think Ward's chin is weak?

Old man came out clean. ..And the ref didn't stop the fight so that statement is as worthless as you think my prediction is..Old man went 12, regardless of he did it..
