This . . . and the Brook fight is still there for him after he loses to Canelo.

It was a (good) business decision.

        Canelo is a massive LMW.

Brook's only name fight was against Porter who came to him. Canelo has fought better more technical movers than King.

Canelo not only hits harder, he can also take a punch

Brooks chin has "?", he's been rattled and put on wobbly legs a few times, by lighter hitting punchers than Khan

Khan has the ability to hurt Brook and keep him sweet

Canelo on the other hand has a solid jaw and i am not sure if Khans power will have any effect on Canelo

Brook would have been a easier opponent for a number of reasons and a 50/50 fight.

I disagree. They are both very good counter punchers, but Canelo has proven himself much more at the world level. Not to mention Canelo is f.cking huge

              Thurman is right, as usual...

So why didn't Khan take it?!

Because it IS a 50/50 fight, and that means he has a 50/50 chance of losing to Brook!

Something his ego just cannot handle?

Or just because that fight, and another payday, will (probably) still be there after a big money against Canelo?

IF he lost to Brook first that's him done.

Agreed. It could prove easier because of Canelo's power ending it early but from a stylistic standpoint I do think Canelo is a more favourable fight for Khan.

Canelo needs to set himself and Brook has a ramrod jab he'd stick in Khan's chest to stabilise him he also hooks well off the jab.

I feel Brooks style is far more suited to dealing with ambush fighters, guys who look to zip in and out. Canelo only really opens up when an opponent is static, trapped on the ropes and they're done throwing.
