Is Dominic Wade just as good as Sulivan Barrera?

Barrera has been way more impressive in his early career than Wade.

Sullivan Barrera:

- IBF ranked #1

- Mandatory to fight Kova
They both have a similar Pro record. To me they are pretty even in terms of rankings, opposition and skills(barrera edged it here though).
then my real question is...Why are there so many people bashing on GGG, and not Ward?
Just beacuse this is Ward second fight at LHW he gets a pass?
is it me or Gennady is slowly getting some hate in social media and in this forum?
please your thoughts....
technically can't really blame lil'g cuz he was supposed to fight johnson, who is much better than wade, but johnson got injured.

Barrera is easily a top 10 LHW, possibly top 5. He's completely outclassed his pro competition too, and is a huge lhw at 6'2. He's levels ahead of Wade.
LHW is probably the strongest division in all of boxing right now, MW is a joke.

He's still relatively young compared to the other middle weights & from looking at his Soliman fight, he's not ready for this kind of step up. Unless he drastically improves or happens to hit a whole other level in the next two months, he is at risk of getting seriously beaten down.
With Barrera I feel he is going to get soundly beaten by Ward but time isn't on his side and this is a opportunity he has to take. Given his older age he is also likely to give it everything he has because I don't think he can rebound career wise from a loss to Ward.
If It wasn't for people like Wade we'd never have any real champions instead it would be a boxing division full of opportunists taking advantage of a corrupt system.

- Cruiserweight
- Middleweight
- Super Middleweight
- Heavyweight
- Light heavyweight
- Super Welterweight
Too many weak named fighters in the LHW division, look at the age of the best fighters and look what is coming through its certainly not the best quality of fighters.
When Adonis retires essentially it will be a one man division, it's already a two-man division right now and the only thing preventing it being a full on one man dominating it is Kathy Duva yep as I said its certainly not a strong division lets bare in mind a 45+ yo man B-hop dominated that division, Cleverly was a world champion and Bellew was one of the LHW best names do I really need to say any more to dispute my claim?
Would also like to say only reason I rated the Super Welterweight below LHW is due to the fact that I think not many of the guys are the finished article, the Super Welters definitely have the better prospect and likely will have a stronger division in the years coming but as of now the LHW tips the edge because of guys like Adonis and Kovalev and that's the only reason.
I also didn't realize we take height in the factor of how good a boxer is, very strange that.Last edited by M Bison; 02-12-2016, 10:38 AM.

I disagree, MW has to be the weakest in that list, outside of Golovkin there are no quality fighters. His biggest threat is a blown up JMW, Alvarez.
LHW is stacked with quality fighters. Kovalev, Ward, Barrera, Pascal, Gonzales, Shabranskyy, Gvozdyk, Fonfara, Alvarez, etc.
Most of these guys are very skilled, hit hard, they have a wealth of amateur experience, and solid size. There are numerous fighters that could go up to 190 and become champions.
Most of the guys at cruiser are very 1 dimensional, they lack the skill that these LHW's have, although they hit hard. Too many depend on just their power to win. Lots of old guys too, Drozd and Lebedev are both 36 years old.
I've also seen Usyk get his ass kicked by Beterbiev in the amateurs, getting dropped by body shots and getting rocked. I think he's a guy that could go up to 190 and dominate.
