155 is not a weight class. It's fcuking ******ed. Why are supposed "a-sides" allowed to make up weight classes? And people wonder why more and more people are watching the UFC

Canelo knows at this point in time 155 is the min weight he can drop to that allows him to geback into the ring and have the maximum size advantage possible without being drained. It's his biggest advantage. If he could make 154, he'd be fighting there instead. That's how precise it is. So, whether it's going down to fight naturally smaller guys like Cotto or draining a true MW like GGG, it will work heavily in his favor. He won't be able to maintain this forever, though. I doubt many guys could rehydrate as much as Canelo and still look sharp on fight night. The advantage of youth I suppose.

He's a 160 pounder boiling down to 155 to gain an advantage over smaller guys and eventually to drain guys his own size. He will continue to dwarf guys smaller than him and significantly weaken guys his own size, 160ers. His handlers know it's the only way for such a limited talent to keep winning and making money. It's an absolute b1tch move supported by the most pathetic fans of any sport.

I say just fight at your ****ing weight class. If 160 is too high, fight at 154. If 154 is too low, fight at 160.
Why do we even have weight classes if people are just going to create their own to gain an unfair advantage.
Win the fight in the ring, not at the weight scale.

I'm not sure. I thought it would be a 2-3 fight thing where he would gradually move up to 160, but he has made it pretty much his weight class. Which isn't right. The fights there against Lara, Angulo, Kirkland were okay because those guys can make that weight. But fighting welterweights there is wrong.

Demanding a catchweight from a mandatory challenger is wrong and has never happened before in the whole of boxing's long history.
If pro boxing is to remain a serious competitive sport, rather than combat based entertainment, it must have rules in place for championship fights that EVERYBODY adheres too.
Canelo should not be allowed to get away with this bullshit.
