      This. I did as well.

Top 5 defensive fighters skill wise in no order imo:

      Rigo
      Lomachenko
      Fury
      Golovkin
      Gonzalez

Lara a close 6th, actually he could be swapped with guys like Fury, Golovkin easily. Ward if he stays active would push one of those guys out as well.

One major mistake many make, I would say you included boxingfan83 , is that one tends to neglect/forget that you can be an offensive fighter with a come forward style, and be better defensively than some defense-first fighters.

You can also be a defensive minded fighter and be excellent offensively.

There is no one or the other when it comes to how a fighter can be put together, how he can develop, what he can learn/unlearn, and what he can do in the ring.

          1) Rigondeaux 'The Jackal' by far
          2) Lomachenko
          3) Lara (but so boring...)

If Floyd was active, I would rank him 2)

Rigo, Ward, Lomachenko and i might catch some heat for this but Canelos defense is well improved especially in the Cotto fight.

if you are saying clinchers like ward might as well say wlad. floyd? come on man. did you miss the maidana and pac fights? clean punches were landing all fight long, except when he was clinching or bending below the waist but how can illegal things be considered defense? are lowblows considered good offense?

                  Tyson Fury.

The man shut down one of the most dominant champions of all time. Completely took his offence away, and hardly took a punch all night.

he didn't clinch or duck below the waist or make his opponent wear pillow gloves or any of the things defensive fighters are known for so no you are wrong
