a) I understand the stereotype but that's very biaised (with my respect). Look at the US sprinters... Tim Montgomery, Justin Gatlin, Marion Jones... even Carl Lewis !!!(2) Drug testing is a very serious issue in that region of the world (based on recent news coming from RN). I look forward to seeing the development of some comprehensive testing system for all parties involved in the sport of boxing. The US/UK also has a ways to go in this department.
b) GGG, Kovalev, Beterbiev, Shabranskyy and others are now living in US (so drug testing available) (like said my dear and tender Tiliheels)
Totally agree with you but they are also mentally prepared to fight outside of their country... They don't like to show off and also people who show off... And there is a lot of "hip hop macho dumb show" in US, and this is, for eastern people who mostly prefer humility and simplicity, very low culturaly speaking ... (sorry...a relapse...)(3) No doubt, I have enjoyed the skill I am seeing come out of the Slavic region, but I would like to point out the differences with the way amateurs and professional ranks work as well. The average age of a Slavic amateur versus and US/UK Amateur is significantly higher. Slavic fighters turn pro much later (on average), and are more prepared to deal with the rigors of the professional ranks (at least physically).
May be... Stereotypes are only true from very far... When we approach, we only see a mix of antithesis and thesis, as always and for everyone...(4) Thus, that "power" you speak of may be somewhat attributed to (1) the lack of any meaningful drug testing, or (2) the age of the fighters when they turn pro and their ability to sustain strength and conditioning because they went pro after their bodies have already "settled".
I think the 2nd proposition is more likely, but number 1 can't be ignored either. .Comment

too sensitive. I understand.
You all are convinced that he cleaned up the 168 division (even HBO said that). May be the common point is the US nationality ? Who knowsAndre Ward was the man at 168lb and rightly so. Now it's time for him to make his mark at 175lb, starting vs Barrera. He's a live dog, kinda basic but has good technique and a deep amateur background. This won't be an easy fight, but Ward will be prepared of course. His trainer is an admirer of the Cuban style so both sides might have a trick or two up their sleeve.
Anyway, I will not continue to express my doubt about his achievement in order to not irritate you.
After all, I'm a newbie (it means -> non-US citizen
)
That's true that i'm the only to use emoticon... eastern european = not always up-to-date.

How long before Baby G is irrelevant fighting C- and D fighters? Real boxing fans want to know.
You can't downplay Ward's accomplishments and at the same time toot Baby G's horn or C***. His horn or C*** which ones gives u goose bumps and make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.Comment

ITT: A bunch of people reading way too far into Abel's choice of words
He is just trying to stand behind the idea that Barrera is a big test for Ward. I don't think he is taking shots at Canelo or GGG.Comment
