Based on what I was reading Wade (18-0) is a terrible waste of a fight for GGG whilst Barrera (17-0) is a good challenge for Ward. I'm surprised to learn of their parity.

It's fascinating to see the spin people apply to make their fighter look better than someone elses.

But there is a big difference between Wade and Barrera - age. Wade is young and inexperienced. He's also a MW, just like GGG.
Barrera is older than Ward, very experienced, and is a natural LHW.

Barrera is a much big threat to Ward than Wade is to Golovkin.
    No problem.
But yeah I'm not going to act like Wade is a big threat to GGG either. He is not. That's a horrible fight. Wade should have lost to Soliman. If GGG struggles one bit with Wade then that's a horrible look.
So I would say Barrera>Wade, but realistically neither should be a big threat to Ward and GGG.
At least Ward will fight Kovalev this year, while GGG is not guaranteed a Canelo fight. I'm starting to have my doubts that Canelo will fight him. Now I don't think it's completely Golovkin's fault, but his team does need a little blame since they were the mandatory and they let both Canelo and Cotto walk all over them.

Another Ward fight at home! Who cares!

Ward take your wife's panties off and fight outside of Oakland for once in your miserable life! You are such a f u c k ing p u ssy who always fights in Oakland! Yeah I know I know you just want to pad your record before Kovalev snatches your soul! I'll be glad when this painful to watch excuse for a former champ is finally KO'd and retired for good! Worst fight ever was all the clinching and head butting he did against Kessler in a disgrace of a fight!

You have no idea what you are talking about, you clueless casual fan.

Ward was a middleweight, he fought at LHW in the Olympic trials so that he would not have to compete with Andre Dirrell for the middleweight spot.

You could a least make an attempt to sound knowledgeable as you trash Ward, you clown LMAO.

We have been " taking what we can get " for a long time now, and the list of fighters that Golovkin COULD have faced, but CHOSE not to..... is growing.

With a deal in place to challenge light heavyweight titleholder Sergey Kovalev in the fall, Andre Ward will jump into the division with a 12-round fight against Sullivan Barrera on March 26.

If this is accurate the delay in signing was HBO and Ward arguing over if this fight was the 1st or 2nd in the 3 fight deal. Issue is still not resolved.

I don't know if I've ever seen anything like this.

HBO are pushing Ward, but he will want 1 more fight before Kovalev.

Very pleased that Ward will not be dictated to by those greedy scumbags.

I like your style man, you come across like a fair-minded guy who loves the sport. Props for your good posting, especially over the last week-or-so.

Yea, I don't think that Barrera is a top opponent at all, but he is a very good feeler-fight for Ward at this stage.

One thing, Ward will not fight KOvalev next, he will fight once more before then imho..... depending on his follow-up date I expect Ward/KOvalev at the end of this year or early 2017..... and I am fine with that, as he will likely face a quality opponent before getting in with the big guy.

If Ward gets what he wants in his next fight, we will get Ward/Kovalev..... I am 100% sure of that, no question.

There is definitely a list he could face, the two champs left however are not jumping at the opportunity. Jacobs doesnt seem to motivated yet either. Lara challenged through social media, I would defend Lara if he challenged GGG like he did Canelo but cant see that happening. I believe Andy Lee would have fought him but he lost of course. At 168 GGG seems only motivated to take a big on there as of now to help boost his name, dont blame him either. I wouldnt want to continue jumping back and forth in weight or win a 168 lb title and vacate to continue at 160. It really seems like fighter are not really willing to fight GGG, many other fighters have said it as well. Dont get me wrong I hope he can fight the best but if it doesnt happen ill still take what is offered. I enjoy watching the guy box.

Barrera is not really a threat. Crazy how people perceived him to be one. To be fair though, it was mainly Ward haters that did that. Ward fans are just now taking advantage of a guy that Ward haters made into a threat when he really wasn't.
Some advice when you dislike someone make sure you actually do your hating intelligently.

Also, I see some people saying that Barrera was this amazing amateur when in reality he was not. He didn't even win a national title. He hasn't accomplished anything since 2003. He wasn't an Olympian or a World Championship participant. He got 3rd place at Nationals in 2002 and 2003, but didn't participate in Nationals after those two years. That's how good he was. So he was basically irrelevant in Cuba for six years (from 2003-2009). Cuba probably has the most depth in amateur boxing to be fair though, but still. He didn't go to nationals from 04 to 08. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure this is correct.
He then made his debut in 2009.

I needed to write some of these things. I don't remember people hyping up Barrera when there was talks about Beterbiev facing him, but now he's an ATG. Hilarious.
This post is not so much to "hate" on Andre, but to expose Barrera a little before everyone goes crazy over him. Ward should win pretty easily. Barrera's only chance is if his power can become a factor. I don't think he's fast enough to do anything though.
A more than fair assessment . He's slow as hell and his power is overrated . I've been watching some of his fights as of late where he's getting off clean shots at his opponents jaw and they don't fall till he gets off 3 or 4 more .

I'm a ward fan and I'll say that he's WAY OUT OF HIS LEAUGE !
