Same here. Manny beat the **** out of several of my favorite fighters over the years, but the MAB and Morales fights stung for a long time.

I enjoyed making my way through some of his back catalogue. His relentless performance against Barrera, his closely fought battles against Marquez, his beating of Hatton. My favourite was probably his Cotto fight, although i really like his performance against Margarito.

He was/is a really special fighter. It was interesting watching him start as a talented, wild, strong puncher and progressing into a world class fighter as his career went along.

I didn't touch on them in the thread, but i rewatched Pacquiao's losses to Morlaes and Marquez also. Both great fights.
I really enjoyed the Morales trilogy. Rewatching it reminded me of how much i enjoyed Morales's style and career.

It was fun to catch up on some fights i hadn't seen in a while though. It pretty time consuming, but i might rewatch a chunk of De La Hoya's or Leonard's fights next.

Apart from how tv friendly he is, the one thing that stands out in the early Pacquiao fights is how raw he is. He clearly has crazy talent but the output is always the same, straight lefts over and over again from the same positions. From the fighter he is at this stage to the fighter who moves up the welterweight the skill level changes massively.
Yeah mate, it was interesting to see the changes he made. He was all left hand early on. Watching those fights again reminded me how decent his chin was also.

As you said, very TV friendly. As fun an offensive fighter you will see.

Didn't give Barrera a second to breathe did he!?

Pacquiao steps up in weight to face the much bigger Margarito, and captures his 8th title in 8 divisions.

This was an absolutely awesome fight. Seeing Pac in full flow against a beast like Margo was insane, I was waiting and waiting for Margo to do something, and when he starting blasting Pac with body shots against the ropes I thought it was over. Ref should have stopped in in the 10th or 11th.

Watching Pac trying to force the stoppage here was one of the craziest things ive seen in a boxing ring.

The one thing Roach changed that was a detriment was Pac's body attack. Pacquiao was an absolutely relentless body puncher in some of his early fights. He let too much of that go throughout the years.

I saw someone on NSB say Roach didn't change anything about Pacquiao. If I hadn't noticed who had said it and known to not bother, I would have gone on an unnecessary tirade about it.

You should watch his fights way before he came to america it wasn't beautiful on the technical standpoint but this is how pac's courage was shining it was just all guts and willpower. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOf5FO6_VPs

Based on what? Rumors and speculation? The "natural talent" you suggest actually has documented flags. Abnormal epitestosterone to testosterone ratio on two occasions, suppressed USADA testing results, and of corse, documented use of a diuretics which is banned by WADA (the Olympic standard he claims to follow). Now I'm not saying he definitively was using PED's, just comparing red flags vs rumors and speculation. You seem to prefer rumors to documented facts.
