I'm pretty sure you ran him away from this thread.

You can't be scaring people like that man! Ask for facts and they go running.

Let's talk data... that's what he wanted. Right?

Sorry I don't sit state at the screen eating Doritos with my wang in my hand waiting for responses. It's kind of boring anyways when you know you're right.

In another thread about the exact same topic (which probably should have been merged) I already noted that Sopranos & SATC got almost double what GOT gets in ratings.

Therefore if boxing ratings have been sliced in half, the decrease is proportional to other programming.

As has also been noted, HBO would be fools to give up a live sports franchise so successful that it often outperforms offerings on basic cable and/or even network TV, despite only being available in about 28% of American TV households.

The idea that the entire HBO boxing franchise would die in a year is laughable. I'd name bet you on it being around in 1 year or 10 years but that's no fun because you're likely to get banned for your trolling long before HBO goes under

I just did, you dumb ****in POS.

Sopranos was pulling around 10 million for most of its run. If GOT is only pulling just under 6, that's what, maybe a 45% decrease.

If boxing ratings are down 50% from a decade ago, that's an equally proportional decrease -- and it is in line with the stark changes in viewing habits that has affected all television generally and particularly premium cable stations ...

HBO Boxing Ratings average in 2005 = 3.7 million average

HBO Boxing Ratings average in 2015 = 915,000

              That's 25%.

HBO Boxing budget in 2005 = $90 million

HBO Boxing budget in 2015 = LESS than $30 million.

              That's over a 67% decrease.

HBO's income from Sopranos... (viewers, syndication, dvd, international) = $2.3 Billion

HBO's income from boxing = less than $70 million per year

The thing is, HBO is a movie and TV show channel. They just aren't suited for sports. Look at their hit show, Game of Thrones. It's such a popular show and damn near everyone watches it. They make tons and tons of profit from it's popularity alone. But what about boxing? What do they get from that? Zero, squat, nada.

My only hope is that PBC opens its door to 3 guys in particular from HBO, them being Roy Jones, Hopkins and Max Kellerman. 3 superb commentators who don't deserve to lose their jobs because HBO can't seem to produce profits any longer. It's not their fault that HBO refuses to make good fights anymore.

HBO is still doing good but no one could really tell. It could continue reigning or not anymore. It depends.

                    Hey! Look at this!

Game of Thrones is the biggest audience EVER foe HBO at over 18 million.

Kellerman is pathetic and a disgrace to the sport of boxing
