          And that would have to be something ridiculous because not even Khan beating Canelo would catapult him from nothing to #1. And then there's really no fight on the horizon with the competitiveness and high skill level of Ward vs Kovalev.

            Kkov has a real good resume but the only reason why he will never be higher than gg is that gg made him tap out/quit in their sparring session

                It would have to be something like Gonzalez beating Estrada and Inoue this year, or Rigondeaux knocking out both the Framptom/Quigg winner and Lomachenko. That's the only kind of scenario where the Kovalev/Ward winner is not p4p #1. I mean, Kovalev has a pretty solid argument for #1 right now, let alone for beating Ward.

                    If Ward looks good in his come back fight and Kovalev beats him then yeah number 1. Don't think anything could trump unless Khan pulls of mission impossible.
