When you chose not to move up to 160 when you're holding a world title in that division and have fought in that division for 2 years or so maybe longer THEN you can absolutely understand why some people are critical of him.
He's fought at middleweight for a long time, forced 154lbs fighters up to a catchweight due to his financial pulling power due to his fanbase, he has beat some great opponents but we've got to be honest he has been a ***** about fighting Golovkin.

I am a big Canelo fan and I am sick of all the hate he is getting. The fight is 3 months off so the hate for Canelo will get worse as the fight gets nearer. Canelo seems to be a guy lots of fans love to hate. To them he isn't a handsome red head. He is a ***ing ginger. I never heard that name ginger until haters started calling Canelo ginger with all the venom they could muster up. They used to say he was a hypejob who couldn't fight at all and was protected. They said if he ever fought a good fighter he would be exposed but he would never fight the tough guys. Mayweather easily beat him with the aid of a catchweight. Hell, Mayweather always wins. After that he fought Trout, Lara and Cotto, the guys he was supposed to never fight. He wasn't exposed because he beat them and he was now considered top 10 pound for pound by many.
