Comments Thread For: Austin Trout Willing To Travel, Face Liam Smith in The UK

Former WBA world champion Austin Trout (30-2, 17KOs) has no problem with packing up his suitcase and traveling over to the UK to challenge unbeaten Liam 'Beefy' Smith (22-0-1, 12KOs) for the WBO junior middleweight championship.

Austin Trout is so boring and so whack, even Al Haymon has no interest in televising him anymore.

Oh, but you won't fight JRock in your own backyard... that's cool

Haymon fighters all say this but when it comes down to it, they don't travel.

Yes, his relevance as a top-fighter has been verry short.

He's the champ, why should he?

Same reason Froch, Calzaghe, and many others have; to make a name in America. I don't have much opinion that one way or the other but if you're going to make that argument, I'll take the opinion of British boxing greats over yours.

I've never understood why more British boxers don't take fights in Europe when there serving there apprenticeships. Look at the cards taking place in Belgium, Holland, Germany, France & Eria alone. It's all good experience & exposure for them, so why not?
