Lol, except for continually creating angles with footwork, his guard is held entirely different, Manny uses his hips to a far greater extent, Manny's rhythm, circling, Kovalev works to put guys against the ropes, Kovalev keeps greater range when exchanging and doesn't work in and out, etc, etc.
So, they're entirely different and you are clueless.


Fact is, a lot of people have created a Kovalev that doesn't exist. Look past the excitement and hype and you'll see a guy who has beaten up a bunch of mediocre fighters and one former great who is in his 50's. IN HIS FKING 50'S. This is a bigger step up for Kovalev than it is for Ward and a lot of short-sighted people are going to be shocked then they finally realize that.

I don't agree with that. I think Ward's biggest issue is simply taking Kovalev's power. As long as that's not a big issue for him, he is the superior boxer and his skill set is specifically tailored towards taking advantage of how off balance Kovalev is when he attacks, as well as his superior infighting.

Ward doesn't need to hurt Kovalev, he just needs to frustrate him and keep him off rhythm. Ward's excellent at that. However, that power and the skill Kovalev has in delivering it is a huge issue for anyone. Ward is no different.

A fighter who dominated the Super Six without any championship experience. Then beat the lineal light heavyweight champ in a way that Kovalev has never beaten any of his opponents (lesser opponents). There's no reason to think Kovalev is going to beat Ward. It makes a good storyline but most fantasies do.
