Comments Thread For: Juergen Braehmer-Eduard Gutknecht Rematch on March 12th

It won´t be Seanie Monaghan or Nathan Cleverly that takes on WBA regular light heavyweight champion Juergen Braehmer (47-2) in Neubrandenburg on March 12, in headline bout of a Sauerland Event promotion.

Brähmer's had that WBA strap for a while now. Why hasn't there been talks of a fight between him and Kov yet? Especially since Duva is talking about having Kov fight in Russia.

The way he pulled out of the fights with Cleverley and Shumenov at short notice (and for one of those fight didn't he skip his flight, stop answering his phone and go MIA for a few days?) means I hope Kov, Ward, Stevenson never sign to face him as there's only a 10% chance he goes through with it.

Maybe he fights Steiglitz? That's probably the highest quality opponent I see him willing to go near this decade.

That sucks, I wanted to see Seanie Monaghan get a crack at him.

Braehmer has milked the hell out of that WBA regular belt.

I can't be too mad at it. The opponent could be much worse given that the bout is in 35 days. ***** happens. However, IDK how much longer Braehmer is gonna get away with blatantly milking his belt. He won't make it out of the year without facing some sort of threat, whether it be Monaghan or Kovalev.

Brahmer should have enough left to stop Eddy late.

Unfortunately Brahmers reputation is of his own creation. Him and Cleverly would have been a classic matchup of Boxer vs Puncher.

I don't think people should be too harsh about this seeing as how close the fight is scheduled for and that Oosthuizen had to be pulled because evidently he is an addict. Braehmer has got to fight someone better after this though, it is not like there aren't a number of good contenders out there. The WBA will probably order him to face Kovalev within the next 12 months or so.
