watched the fight for the first time in several years a few days ago. underrated fight. extremely competitive. people can, and do make the argument that castillo won the fight.

Round 12 was about as close as you can possibly get. I gave the slight edge to Castillo just on aggression as I felt they landed the same quality of punches. I can very easily see that round going to Floyd.

          10-9 Castillo

          Final scored card 114-112 Floyd.

I'm pretty shocked at that scorecard because I don't recall this fight ever really even being close for Floyd. I had Castillo winning every time but I haven't watched it in years and I possibly look at things differently now. I can very easily see 115-111 for Floyd as well. If I gave him that last round, it would have been. I honestly have no clue how Harold lederman scored round 10, 10-8, for Castillo. I thought Floyd dominated that round and it was unfortunate he got the point deducted. If I did score that round like Harold, I'd have a draw. It's very easy to see how this fight can produce so many results. I really think it all depended on who judged that day. I personally think the judges got it right on this viewing. I'm going to watch rounds 8 and 10 over because they basically determined the outcome of my card.

Agreed! Great thread and it was much needed. Much needed.

Most fans are so biased they can't see, and refuse to see the truth.

Keep up the good work! Great thread.

It's terrible isnt it? Unfortunately I doubt these old fights will ever be remastered. The quality of this fight looks like Lyle vs foreman.

Round 8 I had Castillo winning which made It 9-9 and round 10 I had Floyd winning which made It 9-9. As far as rounds 11-12 Castillo took them IMO.

I think that most of those fights were so close that It would make for good reviews and debates.

Yeah I'm going to definitely review rounds 8, 10, 11. I thought Floyd very clearly won round 10. I have no clue how Harold saw castillo win that, and with the point deduction, made it 10-8. That's a huge swing in such a close fight. But then again, so was me scoring round 8, 10-8 for Floyd.
