Parker, isn't hard to hit on the chin and isnt physically built like a brick outhouse, i don't think it will be a good idea for him to trade on his chin

yeah he's not the finished article but there is a lot of noise around him considering his low level of opposition, and his trainers and fans are saying he'd beat klitschko, or fury or whoever else, i think some realism is required.
Why make anything from that though? all trainers and fighters camps say all sorts of things, it's part of the game to hype their fighters..
I don't really think there is alot of noise about him, i doubt even half of this forum has even seen him fight apart from a few minutes of highlights on youtube, only the hardcore boxing fan's watch his fights and know him.

But yeah like you said he need's to be managed carefully, this ranking has the potential to ruin his career, IF they are tempted to take a title shot he could be put to sleep badly... and that could be the end of it.

He has 2 more fights in NZ in april and july, apparently 'step ups' according to his promoter.
And September/October time he will be in the UK/U.S for a big 'coming out' fight.
after that we will be able to tell just how good he really is.

if he has a chin anything like tua who had an ATG chin then it wont even be a problem.
problem is that everyone is judging him like he's already the finished article, when he is clearly still a prospect, he only turned 24 the other day ffs.

      They are both islanders.

Everyone down here knows that most Samoans can take a helluva punch.

      Not sure why that is.

He is 12-18 months away yet, same with Joshua.

genetics, maori's are built like brick ****houses, and were the most fearsome warriors on the planet.

khan has pakistani genetics, how many pakistani's can take a punch?

Which is why it confuses me that opponents don't go to the body on these guys.

Big thick skulls, no neck and broad shoulders makes them resistant to brain rattling, but they dont have any extra padding in front of their solar plexus

But they are not Maori, they are both islanders, from Samoa.

              Maori's are native New Zealanders.

You're right about the Maori, no question, but those guys are both Samoans.

Also, you could be right about why Samoans are so tough, not sure..... I just didn't want to go there

Maori's are traditionally known for their courage and bravery, as well as ferocity..... even during more modern times The Maori Battalion was respected by EVERYONE who encountered them, especially their enemies..... they were known for being extremely aggressive.

It was very hard to find a defensible position, because the maori's would overrun them anyway.

But yea Samoans on the other hand are known for durability/toughness..... in a street-fight, you generally want to have something in your hand if you decide to punch one of them.... attempting to establish meaningful dialogue is often the preferred option

You're right, it is well-known around these parts.

It is far easier to break them down than hurt them to the head.

kind of a odd thing to say bud, No one is Native to NZ, the maori's came from the islands...they just came before anyone else.
Parker is from auckland is he not? or do you mean his parents?
Yeah i was warned about the Maori when i arrived in NZ, apart from looking like big scary mofo's i found them really awsome people, i was even friendly with some 'black power' gangmembers, i tried very hard not to act intimidated, as they were about 4 times wider and 2 times taller than me

I wish i could of seen the look on the faces of captain cook and his men when they first set eyes on these 6foot 5 250 pound naked tattoo'd warriors waiting for them

I don't have the patience to read through this thread...the usual negative comments.

Yes Parker has to step up
Yes he has some holes...Ray nailed them, they are correctables

But he has gone through the c level like he should.

Parker moves well, he plants well for the punches, could turn over more on some of them (Ray noticed this and I saw it).

But everyone has to step up and find the monolithe on the moon if you catch my drift...

The kid has fought for a long time (Olympics) must be nice being good at something in a country with a population as small as New Zealand! and hes only 26!

This kid is worth keeping an eye on.
