Comments Thread For: Froch: Khan Will Pull Off a Bigger Shock When He Beats Canelo

Retired former super middleweight champion Carl Froch was just as shocked as everyone else, when it was announced that Amir Khan would moved up by eight pounds to challenge WBC middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez at a catch-weight of 155-pounds.

But will he have been done in in front of 80,000 people at Wembley?

I expect Khan to do better than we think. A shocker? Not so sure.

          Kell Bum Brooks

After hearing about khan vs Canelo Kell pooped a Chocolate Brownie. Then asked himself do I actually have to fight someone in the top ten?

I think Khan will do well for the first 4 or 5 rounds when his speed and movement will keep him at a distance......but sooner or later he is gonna have to come of his toes and exchange and that's where the damage will be done and canelo has a good head and body attack....khan is not 21 anymore...he's been through the wars and his last few fights have been mediocre and he looked vulnerable when he has been hit....I honestly can't see how Khan can avoid canelo's timed shots because he's a quick puncher...maybe not the quickest on his feet though but Khan is does have a tendency to stay in range for to long and that will be his downfall......once canelo has slowed Khan down the ending will come quickly ...end of the 8th and Khan will be broken...... Canelo is improving and Khan was slipping....that's what we should remember

He is facing the greatest 155lb to ever live! !no one has ever conquered the schmiddleweight division like canelo has. We will never see a greater schmiddleweight ever again. .with that said, if Khan can avoid getting hit which he easily could from the flat footed plodder he should win easily, but still lose on all 3 scorecards 117-111.

This fight will be like McCrory vs Lewis, except Khan will have better skills and go more than a couple of rounds(unless he walks into a bomb). He can't fight fire with Canelo. Canelo has taken out Angulo and Kirkland who were both legitimate 154 pounders.

I'm still not sure Khan is a legitimate 147 pound elite fighter let alone a junior middleweight who will have to fight ballooned up 170ish pound fighter. Khan will be lucky to weigh 155 at fight time.
