And now Khan is fighting Canelo at 155 where he won't be drained, unlike the clearly weight-drained version of Canelo that Floyd fought. So there we have it.

It probably doesn't drop Floyd down at all. I thought Mayweather making Canelo go to 152 to fight him was chicken **** BS after his big speech about him fighting Cotto at the full weight while Pacquiao had fought him at a 145 pound catch weight. Some others thought the same as I did. Lots of fans, especially Mayweather fans were all right with Mayweather draining Canelo a couple of pounds. I doubt Khan fighting Canelo at the weight Canelo is comfortable at will change anybody's mind one way or the other. What it does show is that Khan is a fearless warrior willing to fight the bigger Canelo who is one of the best fighters in the world and an extremely dangerous boxer-puncher. I am a Canelo fan so I'll be rooting for him and expecting him to win. Khan gets great respect from me for taking such a dangerous fight even if he loses. I never thought I would be a Khan fan but this bold move of his just turned me into a Khan fan. Canelo is a better fighter now than he was when he lost to Mayweather.

I don't think anyone would dispute this. But the real issue is when canelo fought Floyd he was just a kid, unproven and hadn't fought or beat anyone of note. That shows hoiw cautious Floyd really is. We don't now for sure how much the 2lb effected canelo, but Floyd must have known how badly he would be criticised yet still went through with it? Its quite disturbing.
I think boxing is the wrong sport for floyd

canleo was 100% drained for the mayweather fight. that's obvious. floyd took him down 2 lbs, and canelo hasn't been under 155 since, even missing weight and getting fined against angulo. it cost him a hundred thousand dollars.

still a mismatch to have hiim fight amir khan, doe.

Wasn't it Canelo's team who originally suggested 150 or 152?

Also, people have short memories. Now Canelo was "green" - before that fight was signed, Canelo was the man Floyd would NEVER fight. People didn't care about Pacquiao at the time because he was still asleep from JMM's punch. Go back through this forum and you'll see how much everyone said Floyd would never fight Canelo even then. But now he was green obviously.

So an eight year pro, with 45 fights, that's the lineal, unified champion of his division and has been champion for three of those eight years is green now?

Reminds me of those guys that say Wlad was green when he lost...the first three times.
