  • Why isn't Canelo by murder an option?

    • Of all the fighters out there and how they've conducted themselves the last three or so years, I probably have had the lowest opinion of Khan...he was down there on the bottom end of the Ward tier. He has really surprised me and shown bigger balls than half the ****ing sport. Nothing but praise for him taking this fight.

      • wow the funny part is i see Canelo winning a UD and not even knocking khan down lol

hey if Alfonso Gomez looked good against canelo before getting stopped then khan might have a chance (until the judges step in and hand canelo the UD)

          • Khan's cashing out with this retirement package. It's quite clever... no one expects him to win so he can excuse himself after a loss, and it's a massive payday. If he gets hurt he'll retire, but there's always an outside chance of a win if he can run fast enough. Amir always has a better than average chance providing he avoids getting punched, and as much as I dislike him he's performs better when in a dangerous fight.

I imagine this will be the end of his career though.

              Basically this.

I said in another thread he has nothing to lose here, except the actual fight. But his reputation isn't going to take a hit by losing to Canelo and he's going to make money. If by some chance he wins then his stock is massive.

I think they're cashing out in the least damaging way possible in terms of reputation. He feels the thought of losing to Brook is too damaging, even if the money is good. The reason he wanted Manny and Floyd is the same reason he'll fight Canelo, great money and no big deal if he loses.

Outside of Brook, fighting Canelo is probably the best business move right now. I'd don't think Garcia brings enough money to the table and Floyd and Manny are basically out of the picture. I don't think he's interested in fighting anymore unless it brings a big payday, so Canelo is the only real option, a strange one and one nobody probably saw coming, but in a business sense it's quite an obvious choice.

                    • The question here is will it be a left or a right hand that wobbles and ultimately knocks Khan out? I say right cross.
