You guys seriously underrate Gatti if you think Baldy can beat him... He's a JOKE of a champion.

Cotto-Castillo is a fight I'd do a lot to see but I won't mind watching Cotto-Gatti too. Gatti always comes to fight. He has the kind of heart that made a vast majority of his fights memorable.

Cotto-Gatti should also be exciting. But, isn't Miguel facing Paul M in June at MSG?

yes he is, the day before the puerto rican day parada.
i'm pretty sure paulie m. is liking the fact that everyone is overlooking him.

Though I am taking Cotto against Paulie, I think it is a mistake to look past Mal, as it is always a mistake for any fighter to look past any of his next opponents. Paulie may not have the punch but the guy has proven that he knows a few ways to win.Surprises can happen and if it does in June, it could spoil the Parada for PRicans. And, spoil the expectations of Cotto fans from other nationalities and racial extractions.

I would prefer to see Cotto vs Castillo than Gatti take more punishment vs an elite and possibly get seriously hurt.

I think Arum might be heding his bets here though. People are also overlooking the fact that Castillo is fight Corrales (whom I think will win). Corrales is far from a definite win for Castillo and if Castillo loses then Cotto vs Castillo might lose some luster if fought immediately after a Castillo loss.

If Cotto doesnt fight Castillo immediately after the Paulie Maglinagi fight then he will almost definitely not fight him at 140lbs. I think Cotto has at the very most 1 more fight at 140lbs after the Paulie Maglinagi fight.

If you guys follow Hatton you will see that they dont want to fight Cotto at 147lbs so I think Cotto might be risky for a lot of fighters at 147lbs. Zab would be a good ruler to measure Cotto by when he goes to 147lbs.

Some of you guys are underestimating Gatti quite a bit.
Gatti is about the same size as Cotto, I for one definitely think he packs a bigger punch than Torres, and he wouldn't gas after a few rounds like Torres did. I know that Castillo has a great chin and stamina, and he's a very skilled fighter, but why would one say that Castillo would end Cotto's undefeated streak and then say that they would hate to see Gatti get destroyed by Cotto when Gatti's a bigger, stronger fighter than Castillo?
I know that DLH and Floyd both had a pretty easy time stopping Gatti, but DLH is a much larger fighter than Castillo, he's Corrales' height and heavier. Floyd has incredible handspeed and a 72 in. reach, the same as DLH. Cotto would not have the size and reach advantage that DLH had, and the speed and reach advantage that Floyd had. Both of those fighters were able to hit Gatti without being hit back, Cotto would most certainly be hit and hurt by Gatti. The only way I could see Cotto winning is if Gatti tries to box and gets cut. Some food for thought.

Torres gassed due to the body punches of Cotto. Its not like he wasnt prepared to go twelve, but when you have someone pounding you in your body especially with a power puncher like Cotto, anyone would be gassed. Which is most likely going to happen to Gatti as well.

I don't think Cotto gonna get past Paulie Maglinaggi, just too fast for Cotto who needs a stationary target (Oh no all the scrotum sailors will attack now). But lets say Gatti fights Cotto with the loss on the record... Cotto can be hit and we Gatti can. These two will go at it and mix it up...we know what Gatties chin is made of and we now know how average Cottos chin is...I would say its a 50/50 fight thats will produce much fire worx.... It's a win/ win for the fans

Yeah but he lost the power in his punches before Cotto even really started landing to the body.
I also think that Cotto will be much busier trying to avoid Gatti's shots once he gets hit if they ever fight, if not he'll be busy staggering around the ring lol

I agree that will be a great fight for the fans, and I also agree that the Paulie fight will be alot harder than most people think, if he is able to win lol
