Boxing Needs More Politically Incorrect Figures Like Kovalev

I don't give a crap if a guy jacks lefty or righty, as long as he delivers in the ring.

I can laugh at a religion, so much stuff to laugh at there, but as long as he puts that stuff to the side and throws down... Great.

Racism, awesome, especially when a man of a race or religion you hate whips some sense into you.

I love hype jobs, I love watching the hype beaten out of them in the ring.

I believe this, its a "what can you do for me" type attitude like when a white supremist goes to prison, he may hate blacks, browns, yellows etc but there comes a certain point where you have to put that hate aside because you will need them. You cant be successful in the sport of boxing and cut doing business with black people out so people saying oh he has a black trainer isnt the greatest defense.

Yeah it is hard to be Politically Incorrect and try to get people to come and watch you fight at the same time. Politically Incorrectness will get you Blackballed Real Quick in American You can be Politically Incorrect without Race being involved. Some on this forum seems to be suggesting that they want him to be the Face of White Supremacy or something, if they're asking him to do that then NO that will NEVER be allowed in America that will blackball Kovalev quickly and we will all be watching Kovalev on Bad Streams as he fights somewhere in Russia

Even though I'm a huge fan of Kovalev the fighter, I totally disagree with the thread because being politically incorrect and talking trash is different from being a racist, the Stevenson Monkey refernce(s) (when Max asked him about Stevensons after the Pascal fight he made a noise that I think is his imitation of a monkey, plus the different things that he said in Russia that are considered racist by a lot of people.

I think he has a very interesting character but that race issue is always in the back of my mind.

I believe every fighter has his faults and Kovalev is one of those guys that's truly capable of appealing to just about every single kind of boxing fan. He's a good boxer, he does it on the front foot, he's a good pressure fighter and he gets ko's. But there's a language barrier, and some of the stuff he says is politically incorrect and happens to be a very real turnoff to many people. But I look at him and I feel like, what he does inside the ring, he has the goods to be appreciated by just about every boxing fan.

Honestly, I watched the Kellerman question live and I strongly suspect that Kovalev didn't really understand the implications of the question and his answer. His English is very poor and the subtlety and nuance of translating such a question deserved more time than 5 or 10 seconds and the resulting answer. Then again maybe he knew perfectly well what he was being asked and what his answer was being interpreted as.
Either way - he is a monster of a fighter who checks every box: Can box, good D, amazing power, stamina, decent chin, great bodywork, controls distance, cuts off ring. Andre Ward has literally zero chance against this cat, and I seriously doubt we'll ever see them fight.
