Still better then Mohammedi( I know that was a Mando but still a **** fight) and others ... It's well know HBO is notoriously cheap. Also Kovalev was in the same boat as Stevenson before the Hopkins fight, so thank Bernard for that, plus Stevenson price himself out of Pascal( which I blamed him for), so thank Jean for even more hype. While Stevenson left with hype he squandered it by believing his own hype to much and became a diva( sorta) and now he knows he has to fight Kovalev to get his mojo back. I don't think he ducked Kovalev I think he saw greener grass elsewhere but didn't manage it properly.HBO wasn't gonna be nickel and dime for a tuneup straight off ESPN 2, esp by a relative nobody that just signed with Haymon. Look how it turned out for him: plummeting ratings, attendance, butt of jokes, no respect in his hometown. Was it worth the little more that he got for that tune-up?Comment

Don't like generally calling other men out of their name but Stevenson is a straight up biznatch and Pascal would've been well in his right to have sucker punched the shhh out of him for that nonsense. Your fellow Canadian just lost and instead of being there for him you turn around and make a fool out of yourself. That was absolutely classless on his part and just shows the character of this bozo.Comment

this fight won't turn a profit on ppv due to the high purses demanded and low popularity of the fighters so showtime/spike wherever stevenson fights wants in on the ability to lose money? having it on hbo seems like a perfect plan for them. stevenson/haymon get their cut and showtime doesn't lose any money.Comment

Pathetic attempt by Stevenson and posturing. His wannabe Depression Era goons with their hats just made the whole thing look even more cringeworthy.
Tyson Fury's hi******* of Wilder's interview > Stevenson's attempt. One did it from the position of strength just having taken out Wlad, while the other looked desperate.
Kovalev's cockiness was something else. He just made his full-time transition to being Boxing's Anti-Hero. A bad guy and yet a fan favorite. No post-fight lovefest with Pascal. Just stuck to his guns that he doesn't like him. He brushed off Stevenson from a position of strength. They're not equals anymore.
It used to be Stevenson >> Kovalev. At some point they were about even in perception of who the man was. Now it's entirely Kovalev >> Stevenson. Even HBO rubbed salt into the wound by calling him the "Universally recognized, undisputed Champ". Stevenson is done, put a sock in him. If he wants to redeem himself, he better liberate himself from the PBC/Al Haymon shackles and pursue a fight Vs The Krusher hard. IF he really wants it. Not this fake posturing.Comment

S*** I didn't realise Stevenson was free to fight on any network, that changes things, what's Stevensons problem then?! He really is ducking Kovalev if you are correct. What a piece of s***!It's simple kovalev has a contract with HBO but Stevenson does NOT have an exclusive contract with Showtime. He can fight on any network if his manager wants it. A 50/50 split on HBO is fair based on the details above. Stevenson's promoter said that the deal was fair so people can't act like Kovalev or his team is preventing this fight from happening...Comment
