Chavez was actually an old 34. The guy fought at least five times every year since he turned pro 16 years before that. He never took a break. Plus he had fallen off and lost to Whitaker and Randall and nearly lost to Randall in the rematch and seemed to be giving away the rematch with Meldrick Taylor until Taylor fouled him a few times and pissed him off.

It's not always about the fighter's actual age as it is how many fights they have had. Chavez was right near 100 when he fought a 23-year-old De La Hoya who hadn't been in any wars in 22 fights and was nearing his prime. Plus Chavez was prone to cutting at that point. Oscar had all the advantages going into that fight. The timing couldn't have been better for him.

I really appreciate Floyd and truly believe he is under rated due to the unlikeability factor. Possibly the greatest defensive fighter ever!

But, he struggles with fearless ****ers who will to take a punch to get inside (jlc x 2, maidana x 2) Duran is a much more athletic version of both, with more pop. Stylistically this is not a comfortable matchup for May.....pinned on the ropes negates May's greatest skills. If u look at the success that maidana and jlc with lesser skills and power.....could be a long frustrating night for mayweather.

Btw, prime sugar beats a prime floyd, while floyd is better defensively, shuga had so much more pop and better combos offensively.

honestly i think floyd beats duran out of the 4 of that era duran is the one guy i think floyd beats in his prime. obviously floyd will never be considered on their level but imo thats ridiculous at least in his prime

second fight he didn't for $h1t, and couldn't move, leonard knew duran will be partying after the first fight

Not to mention Pac was a 20 year pro already, way past his prime.

Duran is all wrong for Floyd. Anyone denying that is a fool.

Struggles and still wins you ever think maybe Floyd was off a little , Duran struggled with guys worse than Floyd and he lost what if Floyd frustrated the crap out of him and Duran quits in the corner , I dont think Duran broke anybodys ribs so speaking like that is just talking sht , Duran has always been bitter with Floyd I think lots of former great fighters are very bitter on Mayweather because of how much money made and notoriety he got , Floyd made more money in one fight that Duran Leonard and Hearns made in their careers , they all dirty on that .

When it comes to great fighters they both are , if they fought in prime who wins depends on who turns up in the zone on the night .

Floyd has allready proven he can hang with the best of them.
                  i saw both fighters live
Duran would have killed Mayweather in less than 9.
So would have Hearns, Sugar Ray.....

Mayweather has you all fooled with his cherrypicking and advantages he has before the fights are done.

i have said this many times, too many people, including Torrijo's brother at the time made lot's of money in the second fight.

                      Duran was told to loose.
