Someone already pointed out Duran lost to lesser fighters than Mayweather. If this was a history lesson you would probably be right, however boxing historians don't decide who wins a fight.

It tends to happen when you fight more than twice a year.

Floyd at his best is much more impressive than Duran at his best so what point are you trying to make? IMO, Duran can not beat Floyd, PBF has too much craft, technique, savvy, and ability. Duran may get one of those Maidana-like moral victories but that about it!

When Floyd Mayweather has trouble with a fighters style Mayweather adapts and wins the fight; when Roberto Duran has trouble with a fighters style Roberto Duran losses that night

I would say Hearns would have beat FMJ at 147 too. But Duran couldn't beat FMJ.

At their best, Floyd would make him quit. Too much skill.

Duran was vicious and relentless ! These fighters today jr faced were head hunters. Canelo head hunted or mainly just sorta followed. Duran would have gotten inside putting Jr on the ropes and rained fire and brimstone on he ass hahahahahah and just made him look like a bum then put him in "he"ass THEN Spit on him and walk away

Duran's strategy is correct though. An effective body puncher I believe beats Mayweather. Everyone who's attacked his body has given him problems but nobody was fully effective at it over the long haul. Maidana was the closest. As far as Duran himself, the Duran that fought Cuevas beats Mayweather inside of 6 rounds.
