It's not some great hidden secret that fans of boxing generally like to see knockouts. You think Mike Tyson was so highly regarded because he was a master defensive boxer? If you don't like the hype that HBO puts on these eastern euro guys, then maybe you should look at the lack of promotional action being taken by some other networks out there with regards to their higher potential African American regulars, such as Wilder.

By this time, Wilder should be widely known as a KO wrecking ball, casuals across America should know who he is and should be thinking of him as "the next HW killer", "the man to beat". If that isn't the case then instead of blaming things on race, you could look at the lack on investment in the fighters, the lack of marketing. HBO markets their boxers, that's how it's done, how it's always been done........because it works.

I don't know about that. Football is far and away the most popular American sport, and football is associated with as much or more TMI than boxing (especially at the amateur level).

i agree boxing is a business and can be A very lucrative one at that so and good promotion company/ network is going to put there money behind a guy who puts asses in the seat. And in this day and age no one is buying tickets or ppv just because a fighter is blk,wht ,ect. With that being said boxing has always been a low class low income spectator sport and when you get people from these levels of society you're going to have some ignorant people involved who will turn it to a "black vs white" thing.
