Ward potentially screwed himself over with all that inactivity. If it hasn't affected him much, then I favor Ward. Kovalev will have a hard time landing to the head. He's very susceptible to counter punches partially because he's so off balance when he misses with big punches. Any time Kovalev gets in close, Ward will clinch.Comment

Not atall.... They are actually the same height and Kovalev has a 1 inch reach advantage, as far as weight goes there will probably be maybe 2 or 3 pounds between them as far as rehydration goes. Ward is definitely bigger now than he was a few years ago.Comment

I just don't think Ward can keep that beast off of him as good, as accurate and as versatile as his jab is I just don't think he has the pop.
I envision he is going to be so worried about that counter right over his jab he's going to move right into that shovel hook Kovalev likes to throw.
Wards very good but I think Kovalev has the perfect style to beat him and when you add in the factors of activity and his size and power. I think he may well beat Ward in pretty shocking fashion.
If there is one guy I take to beat Ward its him.Comment

I have a similar belief at this point. Kovalev looks scary good.
The power is obviously what gets the headlines, but this guy is skilled and judges distance very well. He is a complete fighter.
Beterbiev might give him a fight (might being the key word) but other than that, he looks like he'll just blast through whoever is in front of him.Comment

A typical NSB post fight reaction
As much as I dislike him for his diva bull****, Andre Ward is a great ****ing fighter. He ain't Pascal, he actually has head movement and footwork, he won't let Kovalev hit him with every punch the Russian throws.
As of right now, Kovalev is the favorite, let's see Ward/Barrera first and then talk.Comment
