Idek if all that matters, except to you & probably some others on a personal level. Viral moments are viral moments. And maybe if the public interest got strong enough the fight could happen who knows.

The thing to me with this fight was no one gave enough f#cks to make this fight happen to start with. HBO, the fans, Duva, Haymon/GYM, no one wanted the fight THAT much to take the proper measures to insure it did happen. If anything some random viral moment can only have a positive effect on getting all parties on board with making this fight if the interest grew.

I've been saying from the start it seems unlikely for June doe. I think its a bad move for HBO to risk Kov's undefeated record vs a non-HBO guy when they got another undefeated HBO guy lined up for the 2nd half of the year. If Stevenson vs Kovalev happens it won't be til 2017. I think its reasonable to think that HBO sees more value in two undefeated HBO P4P contenders fighting each other than anything else on the table for either guy.

I never thought about it, maybe the nonsense tonight could help sell a fight down the road.

I also get the point about HBO wanting him to fight Ward first. But that leads to my main problem with the act tonight, is it reminded me that I would much rather see Kov fight Stevenson than Ward (I just think it's a more exciting fight). And seeing those together just makes me less likely to buy a Ward vs Kov PPV.

But I guess people kept buying Pac-Man and Mayweather PPVs when everyone clearly wanted them to fight each other instead of the mixed bag they gave us. So they probably know something we don't.

adonis would have to actually want the fight to even make it a "potential" fight. Everybody but you and maybe 2 others, see through his act.

HBO is ready to ride the wave if Andre Ward wins. They'll just pay Steph Curry to endorse Ward fights at Oracle

Oh, you mean how Showtime went nuts over Danny Jacobs somehow trumping GGG? Both teams are cheerleaders and shameless. Get your head out of the sand.

Tbh, there's a fine line between Adonis and Kovalev and that line is Bhop/Pascal. Stevenson is still a terrific fighter and still the man at LHW officially but Kovalev has stretched ahead, by a small distance, with those two wins. The real issue is, Kovalev and his team were the ones to pull out of a purse bid and Max admitted last night that there is noway in hell that Kovalev could fight off HBO. So they literally just killed the fight last night.

Not to mention killing the Ward fight, who it seems wants 2 more tune ups post the great Sullivan Barrera, so it's unlikely Ward v Kovalev even happens this year. HBO were really putting their foot in their mouths last night.
