The fact that they won't even budge and be flexible is frustrating.

Like you said before, they've worked out deals before to where they'll let one of their guys fight on another network for a 1-fight deal under special circumstances.

They won't even do that much.

And for everyone that advocates this reasoning with "I don't like it, but I understand" train of thought doesn't make it any better.

But you have these weird alliances on boxingscene where guys advocate certain networks and promoters because it goes back to Mayweather-Pacquiao. People need to get over that choosing sides sht and choose the side of seeing the best fight.

We need to unify against this sht and start demanding better.

Who wants another 6 years of Mayweather-Pacquiao?

      **** Duckenson.
And that's part of why HBO was so dismissive. HBO is a part of the promoters business, they spent a good deal of time showcasing, building this fight, all to have Stevenson walk away from it. I was hoping they would milk it, put a mic to Stevenson, but I get why they didn't. It's not WWE afterall.

I think with Stevenson, it's personal to HBO because they built him up then he left them at the last second to go with Showtime.

Personally I think HBO would benefit by allowing Kovalev to just go ahead and fight on Showtime, or more intelligently work out a deal where it goes on CBS/NBC. Kovalev beats the 39 year old Stevenson, then goes into the Ward ppv much more $popular$.

Yea, but that's all it is, a show. They advertised tonight's fight as a "personal" fight. That's bull**** of course, it was made because it was the most financially viable option right now. It's a sport and they give us these dramatic angles to make it entertainment. You know that of course. I just say this to say that any time someone gets up and does that sort of thing, it's part of the show.

These two would make a GREAT fight yet we've got people actually working against it. The same people who bytch and gripe about how the best don't fight the best. The same people who complain about guys like Pascal getting undeserved title fights.

            Agreed with all of this.

HBO has a Gem in Kovalev. He could fight in Antarctica on Showtime against a team of eskimo's and he's still coming home to HBO with the belts.

Forget contracts..... forget Showtime vs. HBO...... forget past negotiations.....

Adonis Stevenson is scared ****less of Sergey Kovalev and everybody this side of Stevie Wonder can see that. It's so pathetic it's downright comical. All he needed tonight was the red nose and big floppy shoes 'cause he played the part of a clown to perfection.

Didn't Jean Pascal ha e s rematch clause with Kovalev? That's the reason the second fight happened.

the usual HBO propaganda. which is why "hardcore fans" think they "know" anything.

HBO is the one that keeps blocking this fight from happening. the fight was all set to happen, adonis was all in, 50/50, let's do it, and kovalev pulled out of the purse bid.

hardcore fans don't know **** about boxing. they just know whatever propaganda they're spoonfed by HBO.

which was on full display tonight.

and your thread is a perfect example of how effective it is.
