Do people remember his fan base back when he was fighting on HBO and had an agreement to fight kovalev? That seems a life time ago. Signed with haymon and ran from that fight been fighting nothing but bums for years and now nobody respects him. He's the biggest joke in boxing. Whoever you want to blame or whatever spin you want to put on it. One fact is clear. Not fighting each other has hurt chickenson more then Kovalev. Chickenson is a laughing stock in boxing and canada. Has no options for any other fights while Kovalev is fighting more relevant fights and has ward lined up. Stevenson forced to continue fighting bums and respected by no one.

Imagine ESPN downplaying Panthers-Broncos because the Broncos are signed with NBC.

There are several variables to pick with your metaphor. Broncos (and the Panthers) are not mutually exclusive with any network and are even shown once a season on ESPN's Monday Night Football. ESPN, along with CBS and FOX, have contracts with the NFL to broadcast games unlike any governing boxing commission and any particular network to broadcast fights.

In the end given the circumstances, you can't help but side with HBO's team acting like fans and shrugging off Adonis Stevenson's "threats". Them pushing for a fight isn't gonna make it happen sooner. Look at Mayweather-Pacquiao.
