Haye is athletically gifted. If he can be as good as he was before his lay-off he can possibly be heavyweight champion. He was a very good fighter. I'm not a big fan. He has a big mouth and his fight with Wlad looked like a guy who was mostly trying to avoid getting knocked out. Then he dropped out of the fight with Fury twice.....So, as a fighter he's very good but he's got some proving to do for me before I get excited about his return. Hopefully he does well.

Am I the only one who's not excited to see the return of someone who considers boxing a part-time job?

No. The mouthy cunt was more trouble than he was worth, and I doubt he's made a sea change in his attitude now. People still want to see him fight, for some unfathomable reason, so there's at least the possibility of some decent matchups down the line, but I honestly don't relish the thought of having to listen to his rancid BS any longer while waiting around for fights that never materialise.

hes like 35 now, hes past it and looses to fury. i think hes just talking enough smack to get a big fight and cash out like the others said. if he fights fury he will talk a lot leading up to the fight just like his wlad fight and then on fight night stink out the joint running away all night

Hell NO! Haye is a joke. Why do people like him? He's everything that's wrong with boxing. Talented, lazy, broke. He's only fighting for one opportunity at a big paycheck. He's not interested in getting a world championship. He wants a big payday and out the game. **** that guy.

He's generally exciting to watch and people buy into his public persona.

You are quite correct though, summed him up well.

The level of excitement he provides when he does set foot in the ring is way out of proportion to the endless false promises and waiting around fans have to endure in the interim. When was his last exciting fight? Chisora, three years ago. Before that? Ruiz, five years ago. Fuck that. If you want to watch an athletic looking knockout artist knocking over bowling pins there's tons to choose from. Wilder, Parker, AJ... Almost all of them fight more regularly than Haye does. Why put yourself through that torture for a miniscule amount of gain?

Not really, but the heavyweight division could always use another big name.

I just don't think his heart is in it anymore. He was pretty good, exciting fighter a few years ago.
