They won't, for the simple fact that they saw Haymon throw his weight behind Adonis Stevenson, when Main Events thought the same about the Kovalev fight, and don't want to face the same backlash (hypothetical outcome of the fight aside, Stevenson wanted the fight and Stevenson's promoter wanted the fight, so Haymon decided to back his guys all the way).

Danny Jacobs, wba champion and middleweight 'King of Brooklyn', is about as big a name as he's going to get (pending Saunders-Eubank Jr 2 happening, and the winner deciding to face Jacobs in a US vs UK 160 showdown); you add that Jacobs, at 28, is now in his physical prime, and there's no real reason to worry about "protecting him" at this point.

Whether Jacobs wins/loses, Golovkin-Jacobs (in NYC, and with a major promotional push) is Daniel Jacob's chance to put his name in New York boxing history, and likely the IBHOF.

You made ten threads asking Why these two sides aren't negotiating and you got 10 threads of people explaining Haymon/PBC vs HBO and you still don't understand? It's the same reasons that prevent Stevenson vs Kovalev. Boxing politics. What we should be asking for is the WBA to do something about it (why don't they try and force a mandatory fight? They won't because "we respect Canelo" is their ******ed answer).
Compare the business that Golovkin-Lemeiux did to the business that Jacobs-Quillin did, and divide the money accordingly.

US TV rights, NYC live gate, event sponsors, international TV, etc; by this point, K2(for Golovkin) and DBE(for Jacobs) should have pretty good knowledge of the revenues generated for their fights.

Line up the numbers, and split the purse accordingly (Golovkin being the full champion deserves some premium, but Golovkin being locked in with HBO also commands Golovkin giving up some premium, for not taking the market value of the fight); give each guy a downside guarantee of $1m, with the rest split on the upside of the event.

I don't think we're going to see these networks work together unless its some insanely massive fight, such as the cases of the only two times they've ever done it (Floyd vs Pac & Tyson vs Lewis). They had to move mountains to make the Pac-Floyd fight, they aren't going to do that for PPV's that MIGHT sell 300k at best.
If HBO doesn't want to share the PPV with Showtime, rather than just kill the fight, why not negotiate a different deal. Showtime could share in the re-air of the fight the week after, and likely be content with, at the least, having their audience see Stevenson fight.

You're right. That would be a huge NYC fight. But in addition to the network war you'll have a venue war: MSG or Barclay's?

Barclays has bought into Daniel Jacobs, heavy, as Brooklyn's champ (Danny Garcia and Deontay Wilder are welcomed and pushed in NYC, but Jacobs is different); will take a ton of money to move the fight out of Brooklyn, tbh.

G should continue to try for the Canelo fight. Why stop trying to get the golden goose at this stage when he's almost got him cornered? If he get the Canelo fight and wins then his clout goes WAY UP. If he can't get that fight after a reasonable amount of time then he should just clean up a few more of the top guys at middleweight and and move up if he thinks he's big enough for super middle.

They enforce wack mandos like this one.

The WBA is trying to salvage it's reputation but will not touch on the issue of Jacobs/GGG. Jacobs is content holding a minor title, hiding behind uncle Al and getting paid handsomely for easier fights.

Why doesn't Golovkin call him out on his bull****? Instead he's taking pics and smiling with the guy on some "We're all champions at heart' ****.

Props to Chris Mannix for pressuring the WBA to force this damn fight. But that is not enough. More media and team Golovkin need to join in and get this done.

                Enough is enough.
I think they should try to get that fight but at the same time why should they beg. Wade would be a step up for Jacobs at the rate he was going before the Quillin fight. I really dont think they want a tough fight for Jacobs. He just won, they want to milk it.
