Boxing has to strip Canelo immediately of the 160lb strap

If two men are recognized as champions at 160lbs and both men have title belts earned for the 160lb division and both men are considered the 160lb middleweight champion then what is to negotiate then? Take canelo's belt and tell the mex to go to hell or back to mexico-same difference hot as hell and people are suffering.

So what's the answer to Lederman's question, "Why is Jacobs not fighting Golovkin?"

You'd think that an HBO guy would be the last person to ask such question. Do people, which include boxers, really just overrating these network issues?

I don't think so, the issues are real. But Jacobs is Gggs next WBA mando, the WBA may have ordered it already if Jacobs was pushing for it

Offers fight at 164, Ward says no and moves up to 175.

Somehow GGG ran away from a fight with a light heavyweight doe..... Lol

I'm really not sure why David Grieshman didn't do more investigative journalism other than posting a video from youtube of an interview everyone has already seen.

A better story would've been what are the financial details and splits between a Jacobs vs GGG matchup and what agreement can the networks work out and which network will be responsible for stopping the fight from happening. All Jacobs has ever asked for was fair money. What's fair money? No one knows because the sides won't negotiate.

I kinda expect more out of David than this.

Sides won't negotiate and now the WBA pretty much admits it won't mandate. This is why the Golovkin/Wade situation is so important. If Golovkin/Wade can't be made, then neither can Golovkin/Jacobs, especially in light of the Kovalev/Stevenson failure.

While I agree with the principle of what Lederman said. This is gonna be a problem for GGG as long as he's at middleweight. And Canelo's presence doesn't help. First of all, Danny isn't gonna make millions fighting GGG. He's also not gonna make enough money fighting GGG to risk losing his current standing in the division. If I were any fighter from 47-60, I'd be angling for a Canelo fight. And unfortunately for GGG. He doesn't offer enough financial reward for guys like Jacobs or BJS, his most attractive middleweight options, to risk losing everything ro pretty much gain nothing.

Unless there's a massive public calling for it, I agree.

This is why I say, "the fans" have much more power than they think. But as long as these fans keep saying how they understand why these fights can't be made, without raising utter hell, that places no pressure on these networks/promotes to make the fight.

You want to get hung up on me saying HBO bought the fight vs HBO agreeing to buy the fight. That's your problem. The reality is HBO was willing to put on a Haymon fighter and Haymon killed the deal. It could've been TR that won the bid, Al wasn't going to allow it. Just like he wouldn't allow Stieverne to fight Ortiz on HBO, despite Stieverne agreeing to it. Just like he insisted Showtime be able to bid on a Golovkin/Quillin fight and Stevenson/Kovalev by a split network deal. He hasn't allowed his guys to fight on HBO even when it's financially to their benefit.
The Stiverne vs Ortiz cap had everything to do with Don King and nothing to do with Haymon. Once again, you seem to excel at making up stories. Have a seat and stick to Golovin worshipping because right now, you are looking straight foolish.
