Does Amir Khan Need To Fight Before (In March) Potential Kell Brook Fight In June?

I think Khan needs to fight in March before a potential fight with Kell Brook in June. Going into a fight without fighting for 12 months won't be good.

I think he should try make the Lamont Peterson fight, other top WW fighters are scheduled to be fighting soon or have just fought.

I think we can safely say he is exempt from ramadan.

Brook will probably duck Khan just like he ducked Alexander, Chaves, Rios, Bradley etc....

But only 4 months until June, not enough time for Khan to have a tune up really, unless it was a 6 rounder or something just to sharpen up the tools. He would stop Gavin or Jo Jo Dan in 3 or 4 rounds so there's an option, or he could always give Devon another thorough beatdown.. lol

Yup. In fact, at this stage of Amir Khan's career, anyone is a risk.

Khan could have already fought twice by now, theres not enough time for a tune-up and by all accounts he only has himself to blame.

Agree with LacedUp - Anyone is a risk for Khan at this stage!

I seriously doubt he will fight Brook. He has had years to fight him and he hasn't fought him yet. If he does fight Brook he should have a march fight to stay at his sharpest . He should also have a march fight to prove he isn't retired. He should do what he should have already done. He should make the march fight with either Prescott or Peterson and try to avenge one of his 3 losses.

I agree with everything you said except the part about not enough time for a tune up. Khan could train for 6 to 8 weeks and fight in mid to late march. He could take a few weeks off and still have more than enough time to be in great shape for a June fight. The trend of today's boxers to only fight twice a year is not something they need to do. They could fight far more often and be sharper. There would be a risk Khan could lose or get injured but going into a fight rusty is also a risk. The Brook fight is his for the asking anytime He wants it. Team Brook will always want that fight because it is a big money fight for both boxers.

I understand Khan wants to follow his religion. Still for him to pass on big boxing opportunities because of Ramadan seems silly to me. If I have my facts right the sport of boxing goes against the ****** religion. The head does the thinking and is considered sacred. For this reason in the ****** religion you should not strike anyone on the head. Boxing is all about striking your opponent on the face and head as often as possible.
