you can tell the end is near. hardly any shows, lot more on showtime, haymon actually willing to work with others just to get his clients fights. will he leave the industry entirely after he fails? hopefully. hopefully he doesn't try and create a new generation of super-bertos

Good riddance, Haymon has been the worst thing for boxing in the past half decade. The only thing i hope is he didn't do irreversible damage to the sport.

it would have been great if they gave us real fights and not cherrypicked ones

It was a great idea and it sucks that it's not looking too good because all the guys under one umbrella was the best thing possible. Overpaying guys was his biggest mistake. I still think it can work if he limits what he's paying guys but it might be too late.

Yeah, the post said he was going to reduce salaries.

The only good thing is this may mean the fights we want may get made or his guys don't get paid at all. If PBC fails but leads to Stevenson/kov and other fights that politics is preventing then that's a good thing.

My guess is they rebrand under Mayweather Promotions. Hopefully schaeffer comes in and does things the right way.

That's when it was clear the TV ratings were bad and heading south. The first warning sign that money was an issue was when 2 huge PBC events (Jacobs vs Quillin, Thurman vs Porter) that were leaked to the media as PBC fights ended up neither being on PBC. First one was moved to Showtime the other moved month after month into 2016 and finally moved to Showtime in March). Starting in Fall the big names stopped appearing on PBC and by winter the number of PBC events fell off a cliff. There will only be 2 official PBC cards in Feb both minor cards. March has nothing official yet. Everything is going to Showtime because they can't AFFORD to pay for these purses and production costs. The air time is ALREADY paid for on these networks. So they paid for all these millions for air time on networks to promote PBC but are simply not using it. These idiots who keep arguing that PBC is doing good are fools. The last PBC show on FS1 hit rock bottom with only 76K viewers. LA Times reporting that lawsuits are coming because a lot of people lost their money with Waddell pouring hundreds of millions in PBC. This is going to get real ugly.

I wouldn't believe what kim says about pbc af all. That dude works for top rank so he is very biased and prays for haymons downfall

The problem is PBC costs too expensive AND draws terrible ratings. Too many mismatches has killed it's credibility. And he can't fix that problem because how can he put on better matches when now he can't afford to pay the better fighters? He's trying to cut costs which means he will probably turn PBC into ESPN2 Friday Night Fights quality fights or his top fighters all have to take massive paycuts. Good luck with that. If he does that watch him lose his fighters one by one. Honestly haymon's best option if he wants to remain in boxing is abandon ship keep his stable of fighters and go back to Showtime and end PBC. Maybe mend fences with HBO and get his guys back on there.
