This is a problem as a whole on these boards. So before I tear down your argument, there's something that needs to be said -- and it can be said for quite a few of you:

You know, you're not a bad poster when you don't turn into a woman over anything involving Mayweather/Haymon. But for whatever reason, that's how you feel. You have an entrepeneur who looks at the boxing model, realizes that it's dated and killing the sport, introduces something new and fresh that fans should get behind (for better or worse), yet you find negativity in every aspect.

Now why would you do that? Ok back to your point.

Now why am I supposed to care about a quote based on what Bob Arum or Oscar De La Hoya is alleging? Let's stick with what we know.

What I said stands and you can't counter it. To the point where you just decided to agree with me (see bolded in font large enough to hopefully sink through your head).There is nothing that tells us where that money is being disseminated. Even if they did tie a subsidiary to PBC, it still wouldn't mean they would then flush it full of everything. Which is what I have said. I may not be good at making an argument but wasn't too difficult to get you to make one for me.

I think having boxing under one umbrella is the best for us. I've bashed HBO to pieces over their terrible match making and have enjoyed most pbc cards. so, what am I being negative over? Because I brought up a verifiable fact? That's actually the real problem on these boards, groupie b1tches. They get upset over something that is true and feel that someone is slandering their hero. Nowhere did I pray for their downfall. You don't have to throw a tantrum over a fact or because someone critiques it. It has made no inroads into changing the boxing landscape, apart from shutting down a bunch of anticipated fights. No, I am not wrong. Like I said, you are wrong and not only are you wrong, but you don't pay close attention to the sport because if you did, you'd know that Rafael already admitted that he was wrong.

Like I stated, Showtime Boxing on CBS is being presented by PBC, which Rafael confirmed in his chat on Friday. So you are 100% wrong when you say "it will have nothing to do with PBC." The fight is listed on the PBC website, the PBC logo was on the banner at the press conference, etc etc.

No the banner says PBC because until last Sat they were going to produce the fight and for weeks and months no mention of showtime being involved. Then something recently and abrupt that PBC did not plan on happened and on last Sat showtime bought the fight. In the press release for the fight made no mention of PBC and showtime head of sports has confirmed that this will be a showtime brand fight and not PBC. I give you direct quotes from showtime and you bring outdated banner that has no mention of showtime or their logo when we know for a fact showtime is producing the fight. So which is correct the banner that excludes showtime? Or the press release and statements from showtime directly saying they will produce this fight not PBC?

ESPN is not the only media outlet stating this will be a showtime brand fight and not PBC. Yet you have nothing to counter the press release last Sat and the quotes from showtime. Sorry I will take the words of SHOWTIME Exec over some banner. This thread talks about PBC losing almost all their investors money and just days earlier a fight that PBC told us for months about is now being branded showtime on CBS just like PBC told us Jacobs vs quillin would be a PBC fight. Did that end up happening? No. And neither will Thurman vs Porter. PBC is losing money and these 2 fights cost too much money for PBC too afford otherwise they would of stayed PBC brand fights.

Most of the money was spent upfront buying tv time.. They payed upfront and have tv slots for the next few years across multiple networks..

Everyone realized this was a "proof of concept" investment, and no money will be made until they land their tv contract like UFC or WWE.

The thing to watch for is that now they really don't have any big expenditures anymore, so one would assume their cash burn rate would be greatly reduced.

I do think PBC has done a horrible job in its first year and grabbing casual fans.. They have an absurdly random schedule, too many channels, times, days, etc..

They just needed to be like bellator or WWE, spend money and buy every saturday night on SpikeTv, and have a weekly program just like bellator on friday night or WWE on mondays.

This would have allowed them to slowly grow a casual audience. The way their schedule is set up now, its hard for even hardcore fans like myself to keep up with them...
SpikeTv would have been a great fit for saturday nights, as Spike/Viacom has already purchased other combat sport leagues and their saturday nights are wide open...

PBC has really started off sluggish because they have too random of a schedule, and their is literally no difference from PBC and the status quo sanctioning bodies...

PBC needed to set themselves apart and be a true alternative.. Have their own belts, own fighters, set rules, no ducking, just like bellator who has become a viable and thriving alternative to UFC.

I had high hopes for PBC during its launch but now after a year, I'm not impressed with their business plan.. They have no way to grow an audience when your on CBS saturday afternoon, two weeks later foxsports1, a week after that espn, then nbcsports,, all at different times and days.. Its too confusing of a schedule for a casual fan, and ratings show they have failed to capture or grow and audience

You don't need p4p fighters to be successful... Bellator has no p4p fighters, but has done just fine being an alternative to UFC

Casual fans just want entertaining fights.. PBC can deliver that, if they matched guys up tough every time just like mma promotions do.. But PBC has done a horrible job in making it easy for casuals to follow along.. Too many channels, times, days, etc.. I can't even keep up with it and I'm a loser with 20k posts on a boxing forum. lol

where the f did all the money go? the purses were only 1.5 mill at the most. How much has he been paying for air time? did he use some of that money for the Golden Boy settlement and buying out some of the Golden Boy contracts?

The television time buys were the major cost... They paid tens of millions to buy airtime.. Thats where the majority of the money has been spent..
Now they just have purse and such to pay for, which are a lot cheaper.
