that was never going to happen with floyd and manny still fighting 2x a year each on ppv. ward's ppv would have flopped, and the people around him and the networks knew it. i think they've timed it perfectly. we shall see how he does against kovalev in ratings.
He is no where neat there weight and even in the May-Pac era fighters near there weights did good numbers...Canelo, Cotto, Judah....of course not on Mayweathers level but he couldve been a co feature or on the undercards of major PPV
what's you agenda? anybody know this guy ? i don't recognize the bscene handle
No, he's a diva because he's a ****ing diva. You have to always bend to what he wants. Oakland anyone!
And did you just call out to see if anyone recognized my handle. Are you ****ing serious with that lame shiiiit. But you're not a fan right, working kinda hard for a Non-fanboy. The only agenda I have is the truth. Ward is widley known to be a diva. People are not just making this up.
Not only that, Ward has hardly proved himself the best. He had some success in super six, lucky to get contracted those fights, but he came through.
But everything after that's been a sham. Whether he forced it or not, the Dawson fight was a sham. Dawson was done long before he walked into the ring, everyone knew it.
Ward's boxing style is borderline illegal. Please don't make me get in a debate about what "borderline" means. If you have media training, as I do, then word choice should mean something to you. The man routinely swings his head around to force other fighter to have to watch out for it. A technique he should have been called out for. He did it after getting rocked by Smith. He has a history of doing this. Let's not start with literally holding the arms of the opponent. Half his game plan is more akin to MMA than boxing.
Despite this, Ward has shown himself to be a decent boxer when he wants to be.
But since Dawson, Ward has disappeared and still acts as if he is always A-side.
The guy has been inactive and repeatedly injured, no one truly knows what he has left.
This fight will tell us something. I suspect, Ward isn't gonna like the result. Smith hurt him, I wouldn't be at all shocked Sulli B puts him away.

DUDE SHOULD BE A HOUSEHOLD NAME BY NOW
he's good enough, but that doesn't make you a household name on its own. it's hard to pin down, but there's an "it factor" or what shakespere used to call "the rub" for a star. the public chooses stars. they're pushed and invested in, yes, but the public has to choose it. they need a sschtick. golovkin has power. floyd trhew some of the prettiest punches you will ever see, and they were so flashy that a layman could tell exactly how skilled he was. outside of the ring he was articulate, like ward, but also had an ability to make people pay attention to what he did and who he was outside of the ring, and that's something ward doesn't have. manny was tiny, asian, and the last person people expected to hit or move like that. tyson was a perfect storm of everything. power. short fights. well spoken with a high voice and a lisp. bat sh#t nuts by the end.
ward's just good. you really need more to cross over to ppv. you need a push, and you need a rub. you also need an opponent. manny and floyd beat oscar up at the end of his career, and it helped catapult them to stardom.
Nice - I like the fight...Barerra looks pretty solid, but there a lot of unknowns about him....but that's a good thing for this matchup because there are unknowns about LHW Ward... it'll draw me in. Hopefully Ward stays consistent from here on out
Anyone know if Barrera is a 4 round fighter and then gasses late or lowers his work rate after 4-5 rounds? Ward could have a difficult fight for 4 rounds and then he'll take over from there since he is a 12 round fighter.
I did notice the bashing started when the fight was in talks and Sanchez running his mouth....personally I dont think GGG stands a chance against Ward at all and I agree with the rest fo yuor post...GGG is a good fight doe just not good enough to beat ward
Ward was their bff when he and James Prince had that mini spat with Floyd. Times have changed.
