Comments Thread For: Keith Thurman Reacts To Angel Garcia's Comments

Angel is trying to push his mentality on the welterweight beasts, the more they think like him the less possibility of them targeting his son. Who is in big trouble as a welterweight.

Thurman definitely campaigned for this fight. There's a lot of talk that both him and Porter are not happy with Al and have been demanding bigger fights. That's why Angel was talking about not being able to understand how they pushed for this match-up. He wasn't talking about media statements, he was talking about their dealings with Al.

In reality that's exactly the narrative Haymon had for Thurman -- become big out of fighting low level opposition. The problem was Haymon run out of them to feed to Thurman. Who would even expect a 40 year old guy like Bundu would appear out of nowhere? So the question is who is Thurman going to fight if not Porter? Yeah, there's still Joselito Lopez, Andre Berto...but let's be real, I don't think he would accept a Salka fight.

Damn right Keith, Angel is thinking money and he is thinking business and son health. Which for a father is understandable, they are in the hurt business and you never know when it will be your last fight.

Keith understands to make the mega fights you have to be in big fights which is great for the fans.

Garcia seems to be struggling lately with fights but lets not forget this guy TKO Khan and beat Matthysse when everyone was scared of him. Garcia has been given some questionable decisions but who has not.

Lets hope these fighters fight each other as they seem to be all under Al Haymon.

Since Garcia was having so much trouble making 140 he should have just went to 141 and made the welterweights fight him there. He's chances vs the likes of Thurman would increase exponentially.

Thurman is truthful and straightforward, as usual...

Thurman is fighting Porter , great, good fight.Garcia should fight Brook , mouthwatering . If the WBC try to force a Garcia v Khan mismatch then Garcia should just give it to them .Like Amir Khan said recently regarding a highly anticipated and eagerly awaited fight for Brooks world title 'it's not about belts' So lets get the top boys on and let Khan fight ......himself ?
And of course the top spot goes to the winner of that fight off. Then you have Bradley , spence and who knows what Manny will do .This weight is one of the most exciting divisions in boxing but has been spoilt by guys not wanting to prove themselves and just looking for huge paydays , time to move it on.

Angel is confused. This fight has "marinated" long enough. Time to eat! Thurman does not need another Collazo, or another Guererro. It's time to fight the best. Porter is a good start! What Angel needs to do is call out Marquez That's the perfect opponent for his son Danny!
