Comments Thread For: Kovalev-Pascal II: Will It Get The Sport Where It Belongs?

By Cliff Rold - Some of the most anticipated nights in boxing history were sequels. Rematches of classic fights have a mixed bag in terms of outcome. There is no denying their allure in the lead up to the opening bell. The chance to see lightning strike twice is rare but worth waiting for.

This Saturday does not carry that kind of mystique.

You should be fired for posting that article with that question. Mismatch part 2 is what it should read.

I think this fight is going to last 2 rounds only.
Pascal have been through many wars.

I only hope that Pascal doesn't bring his kid this time around.

              Same as the First

I think this fight will be much the same as the first fight. To me Pascal will be competitive but as the fight wears on Kovalev's power and skill will be too much for Pascal.

I'm just hoping it doesn't get ugly.

Not really sure why theres a rematch. Aside from a few rounds where Pascal got some good shots in, you can just see that Kovalev was more sure of himself and more comfortable in the ring. He was in control for a vast majority of the fight. Still a decent fight, but no controversy and a good stoppage. Is the light heavyweight division really that bad where Kovalev can't find anyone else outside of Stevenson, Ward, and Pascal? Or is it the usual promotional roadblocks again?

They tried for Beterbiev at the end of last year, and got rejected. Managers are keeping some fighters away, but there'll soon be Shabranskyy and the likes, who Goldenboy will be willing to throw under the bus.

I bet he will. The only hope is that the kid is smarter than Jean Luc and doesn't attend.

I'm not too interested in watching Russians fighting each other... It's more fun in watching them inflicting medieval retribution on those 'slicks' over the pond.
