A groupie who lies to a celeb or rock star saying they are 18 so they can spend the night with them at their hotel or condo? I could care less about. If you 15, 16 or whatever and are doing crap like that then I blame you or your parents. But I damn sure have no sympathy for a groupie who does nothing afterwards and waits almost 3 years and still doesn't go to the cops instead files a civil suit to try and get millions. It seems like you took my post as if Oscar does nothing wrong. If my post implied that, then that is incorrect. I agree with almost everything you said about Oscar (I say most because you missed saying that he's a phoney/fake).

What disturbs me is that because Floyd doesn't do anything else bad besides beat women, and sport's top names do it too, that it's not that bad.

Just so I can understand where you're coming from...you a Floyd fan i'm guessing?

I appreciate Floyd's boxing career, but his actions as a man leave a lot to be desired (Andre Ward is my favorite active fighter at the moment; top 5 favorite fighters ever are "The Professor" Azumah Nelson, "El Gran Campeon" Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, Roy Jones Jr, Floyd Mayweather Jr, and Andre Ward, to provide some context).

My main position, though, is that Floyd's sin is a sin that excessively present in the sport of boxing, yet it seems like Floyd is the only that gets trashed more it. Makes no sense to me, especially when some of the folks who harp on Floyd's transgression are championing guys like Mike Tyson.

Beating women is a terrible thing; I'd just appreciate if such outrage didn't only come into the conversation when it involves Floyd beating a woman.

Canelo Alvarez, the only marketable fighter under the ****ing banner, already has his own promotional company, already directly negotiates his TV deal in Mexico, and already has mainlined his own relationship with HBO; the moment Oscar relapses again, Canelo likely brings Eric Gomez into his fold (to handle the US logistics for the fight) and boots Golden Boy.

Beyond that, are you really trying to argue that Golden Boy Promotions was the best company last year? PBC kicked Golden Boy's, and basically every other company sans maybe Matchroom Sport, face in (only reason that 'PBC' didn'y win was because it's a series and the success that PBC was able to put forwad was broken up across 4-5 promotional companies).

Oscar De La Hoya was always an obvious figurehead, there's no way around that; Schaefer took Oscar's image and leveraged that into bringing additional financial backers into the company (who left the moment that Schaefer left), bringing AEG and their venues into the fold (who left the moment that Schaefer left), bringing broader TV outlets to the fold (who left the moment that Schaefer left), and establishing one of the deepest and broadest talent rosters under one promotional banner (who largely left before Schaefer was even all the way out).

Call me when Golden Boy gets back to running regular HBO dates again.

Again. Canelo had all those pieces in place and yet still re signed with golden boy just a few months ago he's not going anywhere for years. He is perfectly happy with golden boy. PBC is not a promotional company aren't they in court fighting 100 million lawsuits so why are comparing them to golden boy? And the rate they losing money with crappy TV ratings it is no sure thing they are even around next year. Without haymon using golden boy to promote his fighters you have seen a 50% drop or greater from what his guys pulled in for ratings on showtime to what this same fighters are doing now on showtime. For example wilder under golden boy did over 1mil last year but did only 500k just weeks ago. While Ortiz just did 614k viewers in Dec on HBO After dark but golden boy don't have any marketable fighters?

Exactly Oscar was the figure head that opened up all these doors for his company while Schaefer just leveraged that for deals and ran the day to day. Guys like that are dime a dozen. Which is why golden boy won promoter of the year twice without him by ESPN and every other major boxing media that gives out awards not just ring magazine!

Oscar screwed Oscar; try and spin it however you want, but that's reality. After being strung out on bender after bender, Oscar finally decided to sober up and try to be a promoter for the first time in a decade, Schaefer and Haymon didn't trust Oscar's business acumen, so they took their money and assets and went elsewhere with their business, leaving the recovering addict with whatever few folks still willing to risk their careers on the backs of an addict who relapsed on the eve of the company's biggest event.

I can name 6! 6 of 9 of the best and most memorable fights for HBO in 2015 were golden boy fights. Not my words that HBO telling you that. Look at their best of 2015 that they annually run right before new years. You sound dumb saying they had no memorable fights when 3 of the top 5 nominees for fight of the year were golden boy fights, fight of the year was golden boy and HBO the mecca of the best boxing said 6 of their 9 top fights were golden boy. Those are all facts not opinon.

Schaefer tried a power play to steal Oscar's company got haymon and other investors to try and buy him out...and failed. Now haymon is losing his investor's 100s of millions and is being sued for 100s of millions while Oscar is still number 1 promoter of the year!

Mayweather Promotions handles the PBC shows for Vegas, in addition to the cards for their own fighters; whether Mayweather Promotions ever gets as big as pre-exodus Golden Boy only time can tell. Badou Jack-Chavez Jr is already in the cue for Mayweather Promotions (if Jack gets through the fight with a W, Mayweather Promotions is likely to be the co-promoter for a Jack-Degale unification fight). Tank Davis is coming along, Michael Hunter is flashing talent, and Andrew Tabiti/Kevin Newman II/Ronald Gavril/'Memphis' Miller are all young guys who are flashing ability. Floyd gets one of those guys to break through and Mayweather Promotions launches.

I already posted the numbers PBC almost never uses Mayweather promotions out the 100 or so shows they put on in 2015 they used Mayweather promotions for about 2 of them. Other then floyds fights they promoted ONLY 5 fight cards total in 2015. They are a irrelevant 3rd rate promotion company with around 10 fighters signed while golden boy has over 80. Golden boy promoted 40 fight cards in 2015 and has numerous fighters who draw more fans and more ratings then anyone from Mayweathers joke promotions especially the fighters you just named.

And whatever success you think PBC had Mayweather promotions has NOTHING to do with it because haymon rarely uses them. I wonder why?
