Why are people saying DSG is ducking 147 fighters?

Truth be told he would've been criticized for facing Postol before Postol proved his class against Matthysse.
Right? People look at Salka like one fighter is supposed to overshadow his entire career. No. He's had more good opposition than bad opposition. And you're right, it's better to stay active and fight Salka than inactive like Amir Khan. As I've mentioned before, Paulie is a gatekeeper. You don't immediately go after the Thurmans and the Brooks in your first fight at welterweight. You guys should hold Thurman to the same standard. He's been in welterweight for a while now, and he's just starting to fight Porter. DSG just moved up. And he's supposed to fight killers in his first fight? Weird. I'm going to need an explanation for that one.

I don't get the hate against Danny. He had a disgustingly mismatch fight with Rod Salka but he's proven himself time and time again, even before the Salka spectacle he had proved his worth. His overall resume easily crushes any other welterweight fighter under the Haymon umbrella yet they all get more praise and passes from the fans.

Holt, Campbell, Morales x2 (whom although bloated and past it, had given Maidana hell and beat down a game Cano), Judah, Herrera(debatable, but he still has the official W), Matthysse, Khan, Peterson, Paulie and now Guerrero. Come on, seriously? That's a fcking deep resume from a relatively limited fighter whom always digs deep and finds a way to over come some stiff challenges. Danny may not be flashy, athletic, a monstrous puncher, etc.. But he has heart and is talented enough to overcome everything that comes his way.

Thurman, Porter, Spence, Crawford, Postol, Broner and other top 140 - 147 lbs fighters get more praise and credit for doing much less with their careers.

Do you know how long it took Thurman to finally fight Porter?? And he was in welterweight for a while now. Unlike DSG who just moved up.
Doesn't matter what you addressed. Hes fought two "gatekeepers" at 147 now, and it got him a belt. Why not just fight someone worthy already?

Oh yea, because he would most likely lose. Herrera was supposed to be the soft touch, and he was exposed.

        Since then, its been cherries.

Danny fought Petersen at 143, Paulie and Ghost. How can anyone complain that those are his 1st 3 ww fights?

If you are mad Danny beat Ghost for a title, direct your anger at the WBC for sanctioning it as a title fight.

****ing f@gs on NSB still mad Danny beat Morales, Khan and Matthysse. Get over it already.

Exactly. Its like they wanted Danny to say "no, don't make this a title fight".

Over twenty of Danny's fights have been at welterweight. Can we stop with excusing guys who want to move up 2-3 lbs at a time ffs. He is'nt a strawweight. Danny at this stage in his career has no business fighting a Guerrero or Paulie, if he is only going to fight twice a year. Not like he is short on opponents.

Which 20 fights are these? I only know of 3 ww fights.

What excuse? Who should he fight coming into the division?
edit: I went to boxrec to check the weights of all Danny's fights. You are correct that in 20 fights he came in above 140.

The fact that these are not Garcia's first fights at welterweight is being blatantly ignored no matter how many times it is brought up.

You're a hater for not thinking much of Garcia beating Robert Guerrero, but how dare you not think Kovalev/Pascal II is the worst thing in boxing that shows how awful HBO is??? How dare you think Golovkin slaughtering Malignaggi and Guerrero level opponents means anything???
