What criticism to Garcia? My post was anout thurman not realising Garcia is a counter puncher by trade, I'm not trying to protect DG, I'm just laying out the facts.147 is Thurman's turf. Any criticism towards Danny seems ok to me.
AND, when Thurman landed power shots on Guerrero, those shots were shaking. Guerrero was eating HARD clean shots from Danny. Even Danny said those shots usually knock down opponents ala Salka. =P
When Thurman fights Garcia, someone's gonna feel it...
And how is 147 Thurman's turf? Khan is at least on par with just 2 fights and Brook, Porter, Bradley, Pacquiao are all superior.
Na, the ref was solid, he rightfully cautioned both guys for holding, ducking, punching on the break, kidney shots. That's his job and he did it well without having to deduct points.
Exactly! Why are you ducking his question? I have yet to hear why it is anything but idiotic as to why an elite fighter should only have one big fight a year. I'd love to hear even one good reason.
Champions of old defended their titles many, many times per year and were much more active overall.
From a business perspective, yes, you don't push you prime product out and run out early, but the solution isn't "one fight per year" it's just pushing out quality fights over a season, and you can accomplish that without only exposing your best fighters to one major fight a year if you have the stable for it, and Haymon does, so if that was the ace in your sleeve, save it and come with something better, because it wouldn't even be some mega fight, it would just be a solid matchup like Thurman/Ghost was, it would certainly be less than Porter/Thurman on talent alone, though the belt side story might help hype the fight.
If you go back in the last 50-70 years, a large chunk of that time, the best fighters were fighting 5-6 times a year and that's a low estimate in the case of some fighters, so there's no problem in them fighting a few mediocre or bum fighters along the way but they were still fighting championship caliber fighters multiple times a year. Since you haven't given me any examples, I'll educate you with some:Examples? IDK, maybe the last 50-70 years or so? Look over any top fighter's resume and you'll see they weren't taking on top opponent after top opponent fight in and out. See, you misunderstood me avoiding anything. Just like I should've known that you would need this pointed out because you're silly enough to think boxing used to be an endless string of big fights by every fighter.
1) Ali - After losing to Frazier and before the rematch, he fought 13 times in less than 3 years, 7 of thsoe were against title contenders, 3 of them against HOFers, including Norten 2x and of course the great LHW Foster.
2) Holyfield, in the span of a year, fought Qawi twice and then, after moving up to HW and winning THE title, in 3 years, he fought 6 times, twice against Bowe, twice against future HOFers and ATGs and even had time for a defence against a top contender.
3) Amir Khan, bringing this **** up to date, fought 6 times in a little under 3 years, unifying titles, beating Maidana and fighting Judah and Peterson in back to back fights and finally ending the run with a Garcia fight, which was a replacement for Peterson who tested positive for testosterone supplements.
What do we have with guys now? That makes you so happy? Fighting one meaningful fight a year? That's bull****.

If you think all that crap refutes anything I said, then claim your internet trophy and walk away. I've made several posts in this thread outlining my position while you stray further and further away from the initial point. If you don't understand, I can't help you. What criticism to Garcia?
