Speed isn't the only factor of beating someone to the punch; timing, distance control and range are all in there. Brook has the advantage in every area.

Khan couldn't embarrass Julio Diaz or Chris Algieri and has been running from Brook for years....never mind Brook, he's not confident of beating any of the top rated guys.
Diaz and Algieri are better than anyone on Brook's resume bar Porter lmao, not only that but Porter drew with Diaz, although he beat him in a rematch he still drew with him once so Diaz can't be that bad if Brook's only claim to fame struggled with him.

Garcia was having big problems with Herrera's jab, Brook has got the best jab at 147, he would torch Garcia with 1-2s. I really don't think the fight would be competitive.

    Porter > Garcia btw
Based on beating opponents levels below Garcia's career opp?

as usual....Swift gets destroyed, stopped, outclassed, this fight won't be competitive and all kinds of wishful ****ery!!...Swift was supposed to get destroyed and outclassed by few others but he proved many people wrong....it's cool to have Kell as the betting fav but to say the fight would be easy for Kell is just crazy!!...I can see Kell winning a decision but I can also see Swift icing that mutha****a!!

I think Kell is skilled but not really tested....Swift been in the trenches more than a few times and I think that would help him during rough moments in the fight...Kell, on the other hand hasn*t been battled tested like that

Kell just might crumble under adversity and Swift has the power and skill to put him through The Univ. of Adversity and teach him how to win a unification fight...Swift been in that type of fight before, Kell still babysitting his first world title

Resume isn't everything, nobody is denying that Garcia has fought better opposition. Porter had also fought better opposition before fighting Brook.

I would consider Porter a better single win than anything on Garcia's resume tbh, but Garcia has more quantity.

He likes to operate at distance, has the best jab at 147, his timing is tremendous, he'll have every advantage in terms of speed, size, power and skill.

I don't even think this would be competitive.
I'm not even gonna say he has the best jab, so many different variations to the jab and more importantly, Brook only has one notable win. Garcia is a good size WW and he didn't exactly get manhandled in the manner Berto did, nor did he look physically inferior to Thurman, this all against Guerrero of course.

See the bold, that's the thing, Garcia will not be uncomfortable in this fight. The jab might bother him a bit but it's not the up jab Herrera utilizes, Brook isn't as crafty up close, I think people really need to rethink bringing up Herrera.

Garcia has a punchers chance and thats with timing not power. As stated already Brook has all the advantages and is pretty good at using them. Peterson f'd him up and Herrera just killed him, he has alot of trouble with smart fighters.

Great job by Garcia thus far but on the elite level he has the heart but not the skill. I give him a decent chance to beat Porter and catching Khan again with the no look hook again to but thats about it. No shame in that

Guerrero isn't a proper WW, he came up from 135 and brought nothing but a solid chin. I can't see Garcia doing anything against the likes of Brook, Thurman, Porter...

Fighting at distance is also what Brook wants to do. I see nothing to concern him. The bigger guy with a terrific jab, more skill, the straighter shots, the speed and reach advantages. He also doesn't reach with his shots, it's a perfect style fight for him.

But Porter has proven a hard man to beat and Brook beating him was impressive. As you said so yourself before getting caught up in Khanturd land of "I hate Brook no matter what".

I still think it was an excellent win: foreign country, not a vacant title and against a guy like Porter who has wins over Devon Alexander and complimentary win over Malignaggi, a nice first defense even by that day's standard. I felt the fight was wide, but now that I look at it, not so much. Even Brook said he "nicked" it, so what is that saying?

I had the same thing with Canelo-Trout. Why? because both times the guys were fighting a great fighter and I was happy to see them finally step up. That doesn't change the fact it was a great win and you can't take anything away from Brook just that it was closer than I initially felt.
