It's got to be a yes in my view. Prime RJJ didn't always look like the superman we remember him as. Kovalev could get to him and has the chin to punch with him. Though it's definitely a possibility that Roy in his prime could beat him like 8-4. Michael Spinks could pose problems too.

But overall Kovalev could be one of the most well balanced fighters i've seen (excepting his balance lol)

              Heres a few "problems" for a novice Koval;

              Ezzard Charles
              Billy Conn
              Gene Tunney
              M. Rosenbloom
              Archie Moore
              Bob Foster
              Mike Spinks
              Saad Muhammad
              Eddie Mustafa
              M. Qwawi
              V. Galendez
              H. Johnson
              J. Conteh
              M. Rossman
              Y. Lopez
              R. Jones
              J. Torres
              W. Pastrano
              D. Tiger

theres a few more who could beat him and give him all he could handle, for now!
I like him but he's far to green right now for the best of the division.
He has very little experience and has fought no one with high credentials.
              Ray

I was a fan of Dawson but Kovalev would **** him up. I'm not sure Dawson has a single advantage there besides speed. And the Caparello KD was because his foot was stepped on and tripped him.
