True or false: Sergey Kovalev could hold his own against any Light heavy in history?

Not to say beat them all, but is he on that top level where he could make it a close highly competitive fight with any Light heavy in history.

If no, state who could outbox or beat him easily.

It's way too early to say imo, he has only beaten four top LHWs.

It depends on how you look at it. There is no true way of answering it, but I guess you could say with his power and ability to deliver it, yes he could be a threat. The rest is just guessing.

It is too hard to bet against greats of the past. You could take Floyd for instance. Some consider him TBE, but if he fought past great welters, he would take some losses, just like some greats from the past would take some losses against him.

He doesn't even have 30 bouts yet!
He is no where near the ATG level and he's fought no one that even comes close to a top fifty competitor.
Bernard was a 123 years old and no where near a contender status competitor.

Give the guy a chance to develop he is far from the top 175lb elite!

To beat him you would need an ATG chin as well as decent power yourself and great skills. So yeah he could hold his own against anyone.

He would certainly not have been afraid to have a go with any of them.

Would have loved to see him in with someone like Saad Muhammed.

Could he destroy any LHW in history? That's a premature debate.

Could he "hold is own" against any lhw in history? Anyone who denies that must really hate him. Hold his own just means put up a competitive fight.

I don't see Tunney or Ezzard simply walking through Kovalev. No way. At worst he would hold his own in a competitive loss, at best he would shatter a lot of nostalgic beliefs.

He's not there yet, but he's a couple of wins from proving he could hang with anyone.

                    FALSE

His current record is a tad overrated,he's a hell of a boxer/fighter but he just hasn't had the opponents
