Comments Thread For: After all these birthdays, still no one has surpassed Muhammad Ali

By Lyle Fitzsimmons - After all these birthdays, still no one has surpassed Ali

As Sundays and Mondays go, these were pretty big ones.

Not only was Monday the 30th incarnation of a holiday honoring a leader taken far too soon from his calling, but it came a day after another anniversary of the birth of a man to whom fans my age and older give credit for planting the seeds for a lifelong love of the sport.

This list turned into single ply toilet paper as soon as you ranked your #3 above your #4. No need to go any further than that.

In total career greatness, Muhammad Ali was suppassed immediately by Larry Holmes.

        Every non-nut bag knows this..

However what even real people sometimes are not privy to, is that Ali was in fact completely inferior even in his own time!

George Foreman was by far the dominant HW of the 70's. Except because of Ali's famous victory over George we find ourselves today in dark throes of nut baggery.

Of course, most people know of the extreme circumstances involved in this match all of which penalised Geroge and benefitted Ali greatly. He of course knew he could never beat him again under ordinary circumstances and vowed never to ever rematch him, the only duck to be fair of Ali's career.

And among Ali's many gift decisions, he can be pretty much attributed 12 losses instead of his usual 5. However standing out amongst all these were his 3 lossed to Ken Norton.

Anybody who has never seen these fights should put themselves through the pain and agony of watching the bum Ali in 3 complete fights, boring as hell as they are.

After which there can be no doubt that this total clown Norton who had a resume approximately 100x weaker than Wilder's had Ali's number badly.

And after which there will never be any further excuse for having to sit through another torturously piss weak Ali fight ever again!

I simply have the fortitude and courage to report on events and issues EXACTLY as they were/are and not how propaganda wants to portray them.

If you can't handle the facts, you can choose to ignore them..

I write for a different audience..

I write for the people who are already perplexed by the polar difference in what they SEE and what nut bags like you SAY..

I simply confirm with statistics sometimes what is already obvious from the footage... Ali was good for his time, but not the greatest even THEN. AND also that he would be a complete and utter bum in any later time!!

However, I have some PRAISE for Ali too in keeping with the principle of "reality" which I preach...

I believe whole heartedly that Muhammad Ali could have beaten all who came before him, Frazier, Norton and Foreman.

The only serious question mark coming from Sonny Liston whom I view as 50/50 prime for prime (and for Ali I mean REAL prime too).

            These are the facts.

Your feelings towards Ali sounds like it coming from a place of hate. You must be an older person who hated him because he became a ****** (simply because of how he was treated in America after he returned from the Olympics).

You said "I simply have the fortitude and courage to report on events and issues EXACTLY as they were/are and not how propaganda wants to portray them." What was propaganda about Ali? Have you ever seen Ali in his prime? There will never be another HW with his movements. Had he not lost years of his prime, he would have cleaned the floor with Frazier and Norton, whom he beat twice, by the way.

                You, my friend, are delusional!

His birthday is coming up next month. And no one except him, The Money Team, and the five fanboys of his who represent the only people who paid to see him win instead of lose will care.

very hard-wired stuff from you, boy....

greatness comes in so many different forms...

and it needs clear eyes and objectivity to see greatness...

ali beat george, the dominant one as you said...

and how was that? the "inferior" one convincingly demolishing the "dominant" one?
