There is absolutely nothing wrong with being proud of being born an AmericanWhile I get that this might be a pride thing, I red K'd you anyway for a bait thread.
People like you, are the reason people like me (A non Brit Fury fan) have to put up with morons in the USA hating Fury/Cheering for Wilder for nationalistic reasons.
People like you are what's wrong with boxing. Let that crap go and just enjoy the fights without making it "us vs you" outside of the ring.Comment

Never said there was. I went to war for the USA for 6 years.
There is something wrong with:
1. Deliberately ignoring, or not being a fan of a fighter because they don't fight for the same flag, despite there being no real good reason to not like that fighter. If a fighter is exciting, funny, or has a great style, we as boxing fans should embrace them, not look for weak excuses to chastise them.
2. Not being objective about fighters that aren't from your own nation/background. If there are better fighters in the division, admit it, call it like it is. Give credit when it's due.
3. Discrimination.
Just because I am proud of my nation doesn't mean I have to be a Wilder fan, or can't root for Fury, or recognize he is the better fighter by a long shot.Comment

Boxing is thriving in the UK and there are still many more potential champions coming through.
The UK is a comparatively small nation of 60m+, so who can hate on us for being proud of what we've achieved?
And... I know and work with many Americans who all secretly want to be British too. Some, not-so-secretly. They love our accents and quirky sense of humour. They love our language, music, cultural heritage and our unfathomable ability to live harmoniously without the need for guns.
And you know what America? With your freakishly white teeth, love of squirty cheese and supersized meals... We love you too. Don't get all mushy.Comment

I am proud. Does that make you upset?
Without European intervention there would be no USA as we know it today, no Canada, no Australia, no New Zealand.
Just a bunch of primitive bush people living in wigwams and mudhuts never making any progress from one generation to the next.
Be grateful, not hateful.Comment

Fury's stated as champion he represents the world not just Britain and Ireland.
Boxing fans shouldn't just support a fighter because of where they are from.Comment
