Comments Thread For: Martin Wants to Unify Heavyweight Titles, Starting with Fury

Charles Martin now has one heavyweight title belt. That’s not enough for him.

He picked up the International Boxing Federation title this past Saturday, topping Vyacheslav Glazkov by third-round technical knockout to a belt left vacant after being stripped from heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. Glazkov lost when he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and was unable to continue.

Only problem Fury did not care he was losing his IBF belt, So will Fury care about getting that belt back?

I'd rather see Fury-Martin in the states then Fury-Klitschko II. Fury's already dominated him.
This would be a nice build up for the Wilder fight, while getting his belt back in the process.

I think there will be a long line at Haymon's door offering better money than Fury would want to pay to get a crack at Martin.

The come backing Haye, emerging Joshua and Parker, along with pretty much any "contender" (fringe or otherwise, Tarver, Cunningham, Takam, even Shannon ****ing Briggs) would fancy taking his title.

They will be queuing around the block to get a shot at the weakest looking "World Heavyweight Champion" since the days before the first Tyson cleaned out the division.

This is a great idea... Stiverne is 37 & looks to have faded rather quickly the last few years but he would be a good measuring stick. It wouldn't surprised me if someone like Arreola, Shannon Briggs or Kauffman got a voluntary shot.

Fury's got pretty strong knees, I think Martin will have a tough time with him.

I think it'd be pretty fun to get Haye a title. Two trolls as heavyweight champs (Haye and Fury) with Wilder as company. Haye has history with Wilder doesnt he (sparring???) and obviously with Fury. He's also from the UK and a match with Ortiz or Joshua wouldnt be out of the question.

                  Or Briggs vs Martin lmao

I watched the live stream of this fight on my phone. I didn't see anything from this guy that says top heavyweight. He looked pretty stationary with little skill.
